Just took a look at the Wiki...we don't really know much about next year's schedule yet, do we?  Currently all we know is the Badgers, Green Bay and the 76 Classic (Arizona State, College of Charleston, Creighton, George Washington, Miami and San Diego State).  Wiki shows a home game with UW-M, but I don't think that is accurate, unless I missed something.

You would think with the team we'll have next season, Buzz would be open to putting together a fairly grueling non-con.  We lose the Big East-SEC challenge game, and the home and home with LSU ended this year.  Just curious if anybody has heard of any possibilities for home and homes, or another attempt at a carrier classic game?

brewcity77

Right now not a lot set in stone. UW-M seems likely because we had a game scheduled with them last year and they graciously let us back out for the ill-fated Carrier game. I don't believe we have a game set with Green Bay. There was some chatter last year that we'd try to play Ohio State in a Carrier game again.

Hoping we start hearing some stuff in the next couple weeks, usually some info starts to get out in April and May.

cheebs09

I believe Broeker posted something awhile ago looking for 2 home and homes for this upcoming year.

RideMyBuycks

Buzz made his views about non-conference scheduling pretty clear in interviews this post season. I would get your popcorn ready for a top 10 non-conf SOS.

Funny that we could face a conference foe in the 76 Classic.

It's because of realignment. We were contracted to the 76 classic way back in December if not earlier, before all the C7 talk, and for a while it didn't look like the New Big East would come to fruition until 14-15 at the earliest but things changed and both Creighton and us were already committed.

I know for a fact that it has been suggested to LW that we play an away game at South Dakota State so that we move into first place for longest home court winning streak.

Edit:  Just to be clear, it was suggested by a fan, not any sort of MU mucketymuck, and was done with tongue firmly planted in cheek.
Have some patience, FFS.

Hopefully we add at least ND and one other former Big East school Louisville, Cincy, or Syracuse. I'm sure the "decent" programs left in the AAC will be looking for people to add strngth to schedule since their conference schedule will be weaker than they are used to.

Quite a bit earlier, actually. I believe that may go back to summer 2010. We were contracted to play in the 2012 76 Classic until a spot Louisville backed out of Maui, and I'm pretty sure we scheduled the 76 at the same time we scheduled last year's Paradise Jam.

I would hope that we could get ND at home this year with UW and a high major on the road, and then reverse it all next year.  And I mean "high major" like Kansas, Kentucky, etc.  (Not NC State, Vandy or LSU)

Maybe we can talk UNC into giving JP a home-coming game.

Good idea, but don't teams usually try to do that for their seniors?

True, we should plan ahead, start in Chapel Hill in 2014-15 and then they can come back here for JP's senior year.  Someone get Roy on the phone.

I want North Carolina here because we are worthy opponents of one another - not because JPT gets a "homecoming game."  That reeks of small school stuff.  I mean, we didn't schedule North Carolina down there to give DJO a homecoming game right?

If JPT wants his homecoming in front of his friends and family, go to the Klotsche Center.

Sultan, I agree with your sentiment though I seriously doubt UNC would come to play at the BC except for a JPT setup.  Do like your idea of a game at Klotsche....  :)

Right, I figured the teams were set at least a year in advance, but nonetheless, I maintain that it's funny.

dwaderoy2004

I think Louisville and ND would make excellent non-con home and home partners.  And one would think they would both be open to it.

mu_hilltopper

If we want to add to our loss count, yes, let's add Louisville to our schedule.

They have our number.

dwaderoy2004

They're in the national championship game and made the final four last year.  they have most team's number.  I would love to keep playing them, win or lose.

Pretty early to submit to defeat for next year isn't it?  Even if they do, they are a great team to play.  You know they always field a final four caliber team.  MU has to play teams like that so they can beat teams like that in March.  We will be losing the best bunch of the old Big East and need to replace it with some very challenging teams.

UL and Michigan should show...losses can be overcome.  UL lost 3 in a row.  Michigan lost late in the conf season to Penn State.  They were swept by IU & UW.  Losses happen.  It's how you respond.  With the NBE, we gotta play some people.

I'd welcome playing Louisville, especially this being a non-con game would be at the beginning of the year.  We all know how Louisville plays down the stretch.

That said they lose Siva and maybe Dieng declares?  I think they are losing more than we are and this would be a great barometer of our team early on.

As an alum of both universities, I would make that roadtrip to Brookings.
