It is on youtube. But I will not post a link because it is horrifying, and I'm a nurse and have seen plenty of horrifying things. Be warned

As a former news broadcaster, it's bad coverage to not provide adequate coverage or context. As a professional healthcare worker, I have no doubt I see as bad or worse on a weekly basis. You give a disclaimer before the replay, then you show it. If people want to turn away they can.

You've made the point you're better than all of us before. No need to do it again here in your desire to be righteous.

How far do you take it? If someone is gruesomely dies do you show a replay?

Good thing it was a news broadcast about professional healthcare and not an entertainment broadcast of a basketball game.

Heaven forbid I have an opinion on the matter. Saw a YouTube version. Still see no reason not to show it with a disclaimer.

Wow, it wasn't there a few minutes ago, now there are at least a dozen.

ChicosBailBonds

It was horrific.  No need to ever see it again.  People can seek it out if they want to.  The news doesn't show 9/11 planes flying into buildings anymore either, because it's not necessary.  It's there to be seen if people want to see it, but that was absolutely horrific.

Reminded me of Moises Alou's injury and a few others.  When I immediately saw the Louisville players hit the ground in tears literally seconds after it happened...that was enough.  Never need to see it again.

What the hell do you do for a living that you see things worse than this on a weekly basis

Kevin landed right in front of his bench and they all recoiled in horror. Can't imagine what that looked like up close. That poor kid must be in absolute agony. Out of respect for him, no need to show repeated replays right after it happened while he's lying on the ground with his leg bent in an unholy manner in more than one place. They may show it later in a newscast with a disclaimer but no need to show it that fresh in the moment.

I didn't have the game on, saw the score, saw it was a 1 point game and turned it on since we just finished Easter dinner. Saw a number of Louisville players lying in the ground, wondered what the heck happened and then after seeing it, wished I didn't see the replay. Absolutely horrifying. Feel completely awful for Kevin.

Chiming in as another health care professional... there is a dramatic difference in my opinion from seeing a displaced/broken leg after the injury, and seeing a leg snap like a toothpick like that (from my grainy video, looks like it might even be an open fracture?).  I've seen a lot of injuries that are more gruesome and not a lot phases me at this point, but the replay made my stomach turn.

ResidentBrown

I went to youtube and tried to skip the actual injury portion. I was fascinated/touched by the reaction that his teammates had to the injury. Russ Smith full on balling. Chane Behanen writhing on the ground. One of their bench players kneeling by Ware and consoling him while his leg is getting examined. Even Pitino was tearing up. I've never seen anything like it. Whether it was just the extremely graphic nature of the injury, or an example of the close bonds that exist amongst this team, there was a deluge of emotions like I have never seen after a sports injury.

I was rooting for L'ville for bracket purposes, but I think my heart's in it now.

Kevin Ware, worst injury I've seen live ever

+1, surprised any of the players there still wanted to jump at all after seeing that.  Sorry for the kid, doubt he'll ever play again.

Archies Bat

I've resisted looking so far.  Was it worse than the Theisman break?

I strongly dislike Pitino.  That said I'll be cheering for the UL kids.  Not really any unlikable guys.

Navy trauma / ER nurse here...I've never been deployed but I took care of double/triple amputees, so deformed bodies was an everyday thing...but yeah, to see that young man's leg snap like a twig...horrendous.

I agree, very touching to see how his team reacted... especially whoever it was face down at the free throw line.. I'm sure his heart was broken for his teammate.

GGGG

Good Louisville is better than anyone else.  Just slicing up Duke right now.

Agree 100%, one of the worst I have ever seen.  Don't need to ever see anything like that happen again.  Even the Duke player was horrified/in tears.

Kevin Ware of Louisville broke his leg in two places.  His bone was six inches out of his leg.  It's has to be the worst basketball injury I've ever seen.

Watch the reactions of UL and Duke players.  Hate to see this happen to anyone.  Hope he can recover and get back.

It makes you thankful the Junior injury wasn't worse than it was.

Otule's Glass Eye

Probably the worst bball injury I've ever seen, and worst I've ever witnessed live for sure. Pitino said he probably won't be playing for a year. I'm curious as to how his leg snapped so badly, didn't look like anything else I've seen other players do when attempting to block a shot.
