Eventual Superbar topic, but you'll be hearing about a gruesome injury to Kevin Ware.  Every bit as ugly as the Joe Theismann broken leg years ago.  Don't watch the replay if you're squeamish.

Who is #5 on Ville...what a horrible way to end your season.

gjreda

My whole family just halted Easter banter to get around the TV and watch the replay.  That's one of the most horrifying injuries I've ever seen.

brewcity77

They haven't shown the replay yet. I'm rather upset because I missed the live play. Really want to see what happened, and shots of the audience and team distraught without giving context is simply poor coverage of the event.

mosarsour

That has to be the worst injury I have ever seen in a basketball game in my entire life.

brewcity77

Can someone at least describe it? This is god awful coverage that they aren't showing the replay. Whoever is producing this for CBS should be fired instantly.

They're not showing it for good reason.  He jumped out to close out on a three, landed on one leg, and the whole thing just shattered on him.  I'm no doctor, but it almost looked like it broke in two places.

This is for sure worse than the Shaun Livingston dunking injury a few years back.

mr.MUskie

Yeah, I just got home and turned on my tv to see a player being taken off on a stretcher, but no idea what happened.

Jumped up to contest a shot, landed awkwardly. It appeared to me that his bone pumped right out of his right leg at about mid-shin but that could be wrong. Looked absolutely gruesome.

brewcity77

If anyone is just tuning in, the broadcast just showed 9 minutes of people standing around with no replay and no context. Horrible, horrible coverage. You cannot just say it was bad repeatedly and not let people know what was so bad.

Normally I'm one to be upset on not showing replays but I applaud CBS taking a stance if they think it is too graphic. Frankly I'm kind of worried you want to see it so much.

Are you serious? There is a reason they aren't showing it. If you are interested there is this fantastic thing called the Internet and a website called YouTube...

ChicosBailBonds

Horrifying.  I won't let my son see it.  Horrifying

they did show it once, and out of respect for the kid, and others watching, there was absolutely no reason to show it again.

Kevin Ware, worst injury I've seen live ever

Wow, relax, Ms. Media Critic. It was fucking disgusting to witness once. They are not going to voluntarily show it again just to appease your whims.

Wait ten minutes. Visit Deadspin.com. And get your popcorn ready.

gjreda

Lots of people on Twitter (Bill Simmons and others) calling for CBS to go commercial.  It was that bad.

Fans applauding for Kevin Ware as he's wheeled off on stretcher, with a towel over his legs. His shin bone was fully protruding.

Oh yeah I think CBS should have this on replay 100x. /teal

This is what I saw too, on the one replay they showed.  I don't blame CBS for not showing it again.

After seeing the injury on the 2-3 replays they did show, I disagree. I absolutely wish I hadn't seen that. There is no need to keep replaying a major injury like that on TV.

As a former news broadcaster, it's bad coverage to not provide adequate coverage or context. As a professional healthcare worker, I have no doubt I see as bad or worse on a weekly basis. You give a disclaimer before the replay, then you show it. If people want to turn away they can.

PGsHeroes32

They did show it once an it was absolutely disgusting. I would prefer to never see it again. There is a reason 100s of people were crying.
