Any scoopers buy tickets off the street yesterday? What's the scalping scene at the Verizon Center? I'm assuming there will be ticket available off the street but wanted to see if anyone was there yesterday. I've found that this route is much cheaper than buying through MU

norwoodjc3

Great question.  I plan on doing the same.

WarriorInNYC

I was there yesterday, but really don't feel as though yesterday's scalper scene is indicative as tonight.  I think there is going to be a lot more tickets available via scalpers with all of the Miami and IU fans looking to sell.

The section I was in, as soon as the game ended, this Miami fan stood up and started trying to sell his tix for Saturday.

Sit tight for a bit...if you go on Craigslist there are loads of tickets for sale by owner. The prices will come down as people get desperate to dump their tickets.

Where did you find these on Craigslist?  I am just looking and not a lot come up. Would you recommend Craigslist over scalping?   Thanks very much for any help on finding tickets. Go MU!

I just posted this in the "who's in" thread...
--------------------------------

Regarding IU seats, I have no doubt that most were likely sold to others already at the stadium by the time they walk out of the stadium.

I follow these things pretty closely and I wouldn't necessarily count on tons of cheap success OUTSIDE the stadium due to Cuse.  There will be a LOT of last minute Cuse fans with the same idea, so the prices may hold near stubhub prices and you'll have to deal with the pain in the a$$ of scalping outside.  Cuse fans do it every year at MSG and they are used to doing it that way.  For a Saturday game, they'll be out in full force.

That being said, the inventory on stubhub/craigslist is still pretty high and prices should cool off some.  I've been following this and here's what I would guess based off stubhub pricing/inventory and craigslist ads:

Fyi, prices mentioned are stubhub and assuming you buy a pair.

1)  Prices are holding firm right now for lowers, but will probably cool off a bit.  I expect lowers to still go for about $175-200 each (behind the hoop).
2)  Uppers will be much more reasonable.  Pairs are for $120 each on stubhub at the moment, and I wouldn't expect them to dip too much lower.  If you are just looking to get in the door, this is your best bet.  There's a price-point where people will go to the game if it's cheap enough... I expect that to be about $90 per ticket.
3)  Tickets in the lower center court sections are still very solid and will likely hold at $275-300 per seat.
4)  There are a lot of people on craigs offering tickets at above market prices... they'll drop prices.  Start badgering them now for a deal.  Buyer beware for flakey sellers and scammers since it's craigslist.
5)  Overall, prices will drop some, but there are a ton of Cuse fans holding out.  They'll start buying tomorrow, and you'll have a better idea of prices in the morning.

Rules of thumb...
1)  If you need a single ticket, the prices will be cheaper.
2)  If you need more than 2 tickets, prices will likely be higher.
3)  If you need more than 4 tickets, you're options will be much more limited, but probably will find something if you pay a premium.

Word of caution...
I read that there are very good looking fake tickets to the DC NCAA's.  Make sure the hologram looks very shiny.  Also match up the backs of tickets with real or used tickets to make sure they are the same.  Sometimes fakes have similar wording on the back, but in a different style.

Last word...
The face value on this session are $100 for uppers and $120 for lowers.  If people can't afford face value, they should probably stay home.  I wouldn't anticipate tickets going for less than face.  Maybe worst-in-the-house uppers will go for $80.

Hope this helps.

I also just posted this on another thread... but it never hurts to repeat.

We purchased decent priced game tickets at primesport.com last night.
$180 each for 100s section. Tickets "delivered" from the Will Call window at Verizon Center.

Can someone please let me know where marquette folks are sitting?

Looking into middle lower sections specifically

Thanks and see you maƱana!

For the uppers, Mu allotment is 415.

I just posted a pair in 415 row C for a buddy who upgraded to the lower level.  See the trading post for it or PM me.

wardle-

You seem to have a good handle on this. I have a question- I saw a set of 3 on StubHub for 95, but it gave me a checkout error when I clicked on them. No delivery method was specified. Am I right to assume these are fake?

Funny, similar thing happened to me when I was buying them for a friend.  I called up too, and yes they arent availabile.  Apparently there is a glitch today they were looking to fix.

Heres why..... Since it's last minute, all tickets are obviously put a pickup location 1/2 a block from the Verizon Center.  Apparently those ghost listings are for people who set up a listing and never managed to actually drop off the tickets at that location.  Normally those tix dont show up in your search, but for whatever reason they made those ghost listings viewable, but not buyable.  In other words, find other seats.

Btw, anyone looking to get seats, the market has softened on stubhub.  Prices are starting to come down a bit.  Not sure where the bottom will be, but I'd still wait until morning.  However, if there is some seats which are a great deal or unique (like a 5-pack or near MU section)... dont hesitate to snag them.

Also I found out Stubhubs pickup location is 1/2 block south of the verizon center.   In other words, super easy to buy online and pickup before the game.   Just allow yourself a few minutes in case theres a line.  I did this at MSG/NYC and was great.
