Not to be lost, this is am amazing start to what should be a great conference rivalry.  2 games this season decided with the last shot and amazing individual performances.  Love the fact that the New Big East has started early.  That 2nd half was as good of a competition has we've seen in this tourney and the entire college BBall world was watching.

Not to mention both were elimination games

This was a bigger stage, and the better team came out on top.

Buzz made amazing adjustments to shut Clark down the 2nd half.  I was very impressed.  Former coach Voldemort (he who shal not be named due to another overly sidetracked post) wouldn't have made them and stuck to his pregame planning.  Buzz is a stud.  We're lucky to have him.

They are not a rival and won't be either.  They won't be able to keep up in recruiting.

I think it's too early to say one way or the other but i'm inclined to think they are more likely to become rivals than not

Completely disagree.  Unless they have a bad run like DePaul has in the last 5+ years they will be a rival.

source?

This is one of the match-ups I am most looking forward to next year. The games we played this year have only increased my excitement.

I would submit they are already a nice rival.

Yup. They could supersede ND as our Indiana rival. "Familiarity breeds contempt."

I mean this in the best way possible, because I have a lot of respect for their school, coach, players and fans, but it means something to me that so many fans are so hurt by this loss...I choose to believe it means we have the start of something special between these two schools.

They are been a winning program for 15 years now.

Cmon fellas. I have the up most respect for Butler and I am glad they will be in the Big East. There will always be an air of revenge on both sides every time we play each other going forward. Even in the Horizon league there was something that always set Butler apart from the other teams... I can't put my finger on it. With respect to a new rivalry, I would say it is something just under that if there is a word for it.... A chip on each other's shoulders... I look forward to the future all out scrap fights between MU and Butler.
