95% sure I'm going to Washington. 75% sure Mrs. MU82 will join me.

Reagan is by far the best choice for those flying in. Easy Metro trip in, and lots of hotels right near the airport and the Metro.

We'd be staying Thurs night at the Renaissance downtown. Outrageously expensive if you're paying but only 30k points if you're a Marriott frequent stayer. Great hotel, 4 blocks from arena.

We don't have tickets yet and won't buy 'em until plans finalized tomorrow. But just checked Stubhub and they have some for that session at about $150. Please don't buy 'em before I can!

Hopefully, the folks in charge of such things will have a meeting-up location for before and after the game as well as on the off-day if -- I mean, WHEN -- we advance to the Elite Eight!

Excellent hotel. I usually stay there as well. Great military rate if you can swing it!

I spent all of my money on a trip to Lexington :/

MU82

I came thisclose to going to NY for the BET. Now I'm happy as heck I saved all that dough. It's an easy drive from N.C. to D.C., I have relatives there, I already have a hotel booked for Thurs night.

Oh, and I'm going to see Marquette win in D.C. as opposed to watching that loss at the Garden!!!!

What other airports besides Dulles are decent options (no more than 2-ish hour drive)?

If* I go, any hot Scoop chicks want to share a telly?

are you coming from the midwest/mke area? you might as well drive.

ChitownSpaceForRent

Well students are on Easter Break so I may go. Hopefully we can get a good student following to DC.

Anybody think that there will be tickets available outside the Verizon Center a bit before the game?  Or maybe scalpers elsewhere?  Craigslist?

You will be able to scalp but tickets are going to be hard to come by. You got major programs with big time traveling fan support. IU/Syracuse will drive prices up. Don't see a lot of Miami fans out here but that doesn't mean they won't show. This is a large Marquette alumni area so you are gonna have to drop some dough for tickets since this is not a dome and there isn't 40,000 tickets available.

MU82

I am feeling stupid that I didn't buy tickets immediately after Marquette won. We were waiting to make sure my wife could get the day off. But by waiting, we let all those Indiana and Miami fans also into the mix and now tickets are significantly more expensive on the secondary market (stubhub, etc.).

If anybody has a couple of tickets they want to go to a pair of enthusiastic, stand-and-cheer Marquette alums at face value, please PM me.

Darn.

Just heard from Hoopaloop. He's going and Chicos arranged for him and his wife to get a private tour of the Oval Office, the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument. He says to look out for the Boilermakers next year.

I have 1 ticket for both days via IU...do I go wearing IU garb (it's required), or do I decline?

This leads me to a question for Chico.  Which would you rather have?

Marquette beats IU, but gets trounced by Kansas, who in turn gets trounced by Louisville, or
IU beats MU, and wins the National Championship.

Go!  Wear the IU shirt with a gold jacket or zipper hoodie over it--doesn't even have to say MU on it.  The world needs to see the gold.  Leave the gold on while MU is playing and cheer your ass off.

Definitely go!  I would wear a Bo Ryan mask and Jack Cooley jersey to the game if it meant a free ticket!

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

There might be a gathering at the bar in DC where the alumni group watched games this year on Wednesday, with game-day festivities centered around the hotel the team is staying at on Thursday. The DC bar this year is Hamilton's at 233 2nd Street, NW, across from the Department of Labor building, and just down the street from the Capitol and the Senate office buildings.

Can't answer where everyone is staying but I always stay in Alexandria.  Hotel prices are much less, you still have easy access to the DC Metro and it has a nice easy to get around downtown area.
The cherry blossoms should be blooming this week also in DC.

Just got our tix for Thursday. Section 400, up high but right at center court. Me and the missus are psyched!

Staying at the Renaissance on Thursday night. Hope to meet up with other Scoopers at some point.

AFTER WE WIN, we'll be flying by the seat of our pants, scrambling for tix and accommodations. Kind of fun to be spontaneous.

I've stayed in Crystal City (Arlington) a bunch of times when out to DC.  I always use priceline.com, bid $70 or $75 and have always scored a room at the Marriott there, which has a metro stop right in the bowels of the building.  And you could literally walk to Reagan.
