Some things stand out on that list:

  • Siva was talked about POY pre-season and made THIRD team
  • The All Rookie team has four C7 schools of the six.  Good sign for the future
  • All four Honorable Mentions are C7 schools and all are underclassmen.  Signs those players are ready to make the jump

EDIT: and they listed Vander as a Senior for some reason?

Hard to argue with. I know there was some talk of Vander being first team, but how do you put him over anybody those guys. Oddly enough, while I think all 6 are more worthy of first team honors, I still think Vander would be my second pick for POY behind Porter. If it's a question of value, I'm not sure any of the other five rate ahead of My Boy Blue.

If POY is based on value to their team, I've got to agree.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

I think Vander is fairly placed and is to be congratulated for a great season, especially the last 7.4 seconds of it.

Peyton Siva was prominently mentioned as a possible national POY in the pre-season.

The one that gets me is Brandon Triche.  Every time I watch Syracuse (which, admittedly, isn't a ton) it seems that guy just kills them with poor play.

Calvin:  Nobody thinks I'm a genius.

Peyton Siva was a horrible POY choice then and it's being shown now. Dude never belonged in the discussion.

Just a reminder that we'll be dealing with Obekpa for three more years.  Was no fun watching him do the Mikan drill down the stretch against us on Saturday.

Arcidiacono is also going to seem like a guy with a decade of eligibility with three more years ahead of him, and his game against us was below average for him.
