^^^That reads like an official statement from MU to a willing journalist. Not sure where it came from but my guess is MU just didn't want negative press.

Teddy Greenstrein is pretty solid on the NW beat, I'm guessing he's got a good idea of what's going on in that program.

41.2 is good enough to be the best 3pt shooter in the Big East.  I'll take that.  It's better than DJO ever shot too.

+1.  I'll take a 37-40% shooter every day.

Drew is staying at Northwestern

Why mess up a perfect four year run of no NCAA appearances?
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

ChitownSpaceForRent

I would love to have Crawford. He would be a damn good pickup if this was true at all.

That program is going to turn around under Coach Collins. All those kids love him so far.

Sure, Collins will get it turned around.  But Drew only has one more year left.  And next year's team ain't going dancing.

2013 PG Trey Dickerson from Texas tweeted that Marquette is now involved

Also, possible interest in Duquense Frosh Quevyn Winters? From ESPN Rumors:

"Of all the newcomers to the Atlantic 10 in 2012-13, Quevyn Winters had one of the more promising seasons. The former Baylor commit decided to join Duquesne last spring, becoming a pivotal piece in the program's rebuilding process under new coach Jim Ferry. Along with Derrick Colter and Jeremiah Jones, the core of Ferry's first recruiting class proved promising, and there was hope that their second season on the Bluff would yield a vast improvement in terms of the team's development and also in the conference standings. It was a surprise, then, to learn that Winters, a 6-foot-5 wing who converted 54 percent of his twos and 38 percent of his threes (and whose percentage of shots taken ranked third on the team), intended to transfer.

According to various accounts, a death in Winters' family during the season influenced his decision, and the soon-to-be-sophomore is seeking to attend a school closer to his Milwaukee home. It will be interesting to see what programs begin to stand-out for the star frosh; certainly Winters demonstrated he could be a feature player on a non-BCS squad, but since he seems like the prototypical 'switchable', a term coined by coach Buzz Williams to define players who can play multiple positions on the court, might Winters be a fit at Marquette? Although there was a feeling among Dukes' supporters that Winters relied too often on his perimeter shooting, he has proven he has the potential to be a consistent three-point threat, and his ability to get to the rim off the bounce fits Williams' gameplan of an efficient offense being generated by consistent paint touches. There will undoubtedly be other schools in the mix for Winters, so we will continue to pursue any additional programs that might become a potential college home for the wing."

Sorry, but I don't get this.  3 point guards in the same class?

BTW, Dickerson is from NY, not Texas.  He plays at a Los Angeles area prep school.

True, I wish he would transfer somewhere, especially MU, but he's not planning on it.

The 5 guards listed have on average 0.8 years of college experience. The 6 front court players have an average of 2.5 years of college experience. If we get a 1-year transfer, a guard would be much more desirable because we need that experience now.
.

You are dead on with your math.

Every game we play next year, that number goes up for the guards (and others too).  ;D. Multiply that by a factor greater than one, cause they play for Buzz.

For those having trouble reading through all his retweets. Seemed to retweet Duane Wilson and Paint Touches a ton.

What is this guy like? No rankings on Scout or ESPN from what I can tell. Seems to have decent size for a PG.

Would be a good addition, I remember seeing him as an late first/early second rounder in some mocks this past preseason.

So Drew Crawford is even better than Vander?

The guy had a great junior year comparable to Blue. Different skill sets so you really can't compare too much. If he comes back from his shoulder injury, he could provide an outside threat Blue couldn't opening up the lane for our other wings and the big guys. That said, not many people have the balls Blue has in late game situations.

So he'd be like our version of Nick Stauskus?

I think it is time to forget this story as it is a non-story until Drew gets his release from Northwestern which he seems he will not, on to the next player.  Was MU and Florida St.
tampering? How does his name even be mentioned without some type of leak?

A Northwestern degree would be a strong deterrent to leaving.
