Seth Greenberg said Penn State cannot rush the court because the game was not a sell-out.

A new court rush rule?

Pretty sure he was joking.
Have some patience, FFS.

Some great new rules.

Also, no rushing the court if the fans chanted "Overrated" during the game.

DJ Newbill, btw, went the distance in the game with 17 pts on 6/13, 5 assists, 2 steals, and a rebound.  Damn.

Is there anything more soothing than the sonorous sound of Seth pontificating on the college game? I think not.

That is a pretty good start but there are probably 20 or so programs that should never EVER storm the court regardless of the opponent or the score:

Big Ten:
Indiana
Michigan (come on, UCONN??????)
Michigan State
Wisconsin (the storm against Duke last year was stomach-turning)
Ohio State

Big 12
Kansas
Oklahoma State
West Virginia

Big East
Marquette
Cuse
UConn
Gtown
Louisville
ND
Nova
Pitt

Pac10
UCLA
Arizona
Oregon

SEC
Florida
Kentucky
Mizzou

ACC
Duke
UNC
Maryland

OTHERS
Memphis
Gonzaga
Xavier

I am probably missing a few so add/subtract at will.

Does Butler still have storming privileges?

Oregon? Don't you mean Oregon State? They were great under Ralph Miller. Oregon ain't sh1t.

Wisconsin? Two words: John Powless.

I don't think so. Their two Championship appearances are still too fresh.

I think that as a matter of policy for the new conference member teams are forbidden from engaging in such demeaning behavior.  I am certain Seth Greenberg would agree.

Seeing the court storming for PSU was pretty great and hilarious... Quite noticeable that they weren't filling up the floor.  Of course its encourage in their situation... More power to them!

Greenberg is an idiot.  If anything, the fact that these students showed up for what most thought was going to be a 20-30 point loss makes them all the more deserving of the experience.

Exactly.

I still remember when MU rushed the court over then #2 cincinnati in 1999.  Was the only real highlight in few years.   Glad those days are behind us.

Let's hope that is the last time Marquette's faithful feel the need to rush the court. A rush to the bar is much more dignified.

Pretty sure the last MU court rush was Dameon Mason's and1 to beat Louisville in March 2004.  I cant imagine one happening unless we win a conference championship on our home floor.

You're setting the bar too low. A National Championship warrants a court rush but nothing else.

Rule X is so true.   If the attractive young lady next to you implies that rushing the court would make her more willing to spend time with you....well, a man's got to do what a man's got to do.    All of the other guidelines fade when that one is invoked.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

I think kids should be able to storm the court whenever they want.

It's fun.

I agree let the students have fun, I think any rush is justified when an unranked team beats a top five or ten team.  I don't get why people hate when students rush the court.  I don't hear anyone on hear complaining each time OX bangs his chest and screams after he gets an and 1.  By the same principal he should act like he has been there.  I love students showing emotion and rushing the court after a HUGE win always puts a smile on my face no mater what school is rushing.

Ok make it a rule that every home win ends in a rush.  And whoever gets hurt, have security pick up their broken body and dump it in the alley behind the arena.

How many kids got hurt at Penn State when they rushed?

In the history of court rushes, there have been THOUSANDS of kids... maybe hundreds of thousands.

I'm sure there have been injuries, but I have never heard of a significant percentage.

Also, a lot of schools have "general admission" for students where they run to their seats. Are we going to end that as well?

MU has had some fun court rushes over the years and Doc being ND was my favorite. I think, or hope, that MU students know when a game merits a court rush. Hopefully few merit it moving forward because teams are gunning for us and not other way around.
