He is off scholarship next year, he has had 2 years, his day is over.

He came in as a walk-on and was ready to pay his way.  As luck would have it, MU had extra scholarships the last two years and he did not have to pay.  So, his family's finances are well ahead on this deal.

Jake Thomas played for MU last year?  Where was I?

Sat out for his transfer year from South Dakota ... but did not have to pay as we had an extra schollie and Buzz gave it to hm.

Jake Thomas going off scholie still means MU is one over.

Correct ... the 1 oversigned comment assumes Jake goes off schollie.

Well, looks who's #1 in 2015 now.

One of these days, whether it is Looney in 2014 or Stone in 2015, MU will grab one.

Stretchdeltsig

Hopefully, he's a number one recruiting target for Buzz and staff.

Hope you are right on that. You are more optimistic than I am but hoping for us to land a whale one of these days.

Gee, ya think?
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Yeah, I'm thinking that the #1 rated player in the class of 2015, from a school located just a few miles away from campus, with a teammate that is coming here next year, playing a position of obvious need, and who has been to multiple MU games this season, is very likely going to be the top priority.

Call me crazy...

Certainly hope so.  Haven't heard much talk to confirm or deny it, have you?

Yes.  Don't worry about it.

Where does MU stand with Ellenson? Saw him last Friday (radio PBP), will see him tomorrow night against Onalaska and Matt Thomas (doing game on tape-delay TV). He's awfully good. Questions would be poor HS coaching and all the backstuff with his dad. Plus Tubby's got the inside track with the older Ellenson now a freshman there.

Yeah, usually the grass dies.

Now, where it poops is a completely different matter.....

I wish, but their poop doesn't make good fertilizer. Too acidic or something like that. I mean, I really wish it weren't so because my two Newfies generate A LOT of unusable poop. Woe to the raccoon that ventures into my trash can looking for treats.

Does Tubby's departure from Minnesota now give MU a better shot at Ellenson?
The shaka sign, sometimes known as "hang loose", is a gesture of friendly intent often associated with Hawaii and surf culture.

Random but are we sure jake Thomas is back next year? We all are looking at it from a basketball eligibility issue but I question if that's what he plans on doing. He could be graduating this spring since he is a senior academics wise. He had a great experience of two sweet 16's and free tuition. I really don't think he will find much time next yeah so is it worth it paying a year? Only he knows but I've haven't seen anyone question it.

Does it matter either way?  He won't use a scholarship regardless, and doubtful he'd get much more than Frozena minutes anyway.  Huge shot against Cuse and great decoy against Butler, but we're stacked at his position next year.

It could make it more difficult. A player liking Minnesota may not pick them, if they think the coach might be fired. Now that is out of the way, so it depends on how much he likes Minnesota and the new coach who will be filled with optimism on how the program will do under him.

Agree. Give Jake the option to walk on and pay his way. He can play a few minutes in non conference and be along for the ride of what should be an incredible season. He's earned that, if he wants it.

If he graduates and wants to be done playing ball, thats fine too. Dont think it makes a huge difference either way.

If you graduated, how many classes does have to take to be eligible, I would assume not many, so in saying that, his tuition may not be that much either if it is per class?  Advise.
