Where do you see that?
This is the premium priced game as uppers are $35 to $25. Those seats just three year ago where $25 to $15. I think the Marquette ticket office is getting carried away on the premium pricing.

You're not. This is an issue across all sports. There are always going to be the die-hards who are willing to brave the elements to watch a live game, but the number of die-hards is decreasing. More and more people (especially young people) prefer to watch the game on a 60" HD TV from the comfort of their living room.

IMO, teams are going to start building smaller arenas that they're able to fill but the stadiums will have more bells, whistles and luxury suites. Look at the Cubs' projected upgrades to Wrigley. They aren't expanding capacity of the stadium for the common fan, they want to build more "luxury areas" that will potentially  generate more money.

Actually, that is an interesting point. MU might have more eyeballs than ever, but it doesn't necessarily translate to attendance.

Give me the section. I didn't see anything in the corners for $45.

Corners are $34, top between the baselines is $45 (plus taxes and ticket master fees)

These seems like really high prices

You're right. And I look forward to the next wave of owners who will demand new arenas/stadiums because their current ones are too big and obsolete.

Ok, I'm with you. Those prices include the taxes and ticketmaster fee.

That's why I tell people just go to the Bradley Center ticket window and you don't have to pay the ticketmaster charge. The Al's ticket office you can also buy single game tickets. $35 or $25.

You avoid the fees just by calling the ticket office as well.  There's no reason to pay those ticketmaster fees really.

Part of me wonders... if today's students can't get excited for a late-Feb match-up between two ranked teams tied for 2nd place in the Big East, what is the landscape of MU basketball going to look like in 25 years when these graduates have no desire to fill the seats that our baby-boomer alums won't be using anymore.

IOW, if today's product won't sell to a captive audience, how the heck are you going to sell it to them decades from now?

That's a pretty ridiculous statement because by saying that you're expecting the graduates to stick around Milwaukee. Granted a lot of students will, but the vast majority will live somewhere where buying season tickets or going to a weekday game wouldn't make sense at all.
Bring back FFP!!!

I could be wrong, but they don't sell single game tickets over the phone.

I've bought tickets for two separate games this year over the phone, including ND just a week ago by calling the 414-288-GOMU number.  They put the tickets right into your My Marquette account if you have one.

I just talked to a co-worker who is 67 year old women, who bought three ticket online. I don't understand why people don't buy tickets at the ticket window and save $$$$ on the fees.

What happens if all of the $10 tickets are sold out at that point? Worse what if the game sells out?

If you don't want to pay the fees, there are better options such as Facebook, Craigslist and ebay.

I don't think they're supposed to do that, but sometimes they will as a courtesy if you're a season ticket holder.  Just don't tell Ticketmaster.

She bought the $35 tickets not the $10. I'm not even talking about buying tickets on gameday. Go to the Al or BC weeks or months before. These fees are stopping people from going to games.

The $10 tickets didn't come out untill last week, when Marquette knew the game isn't close to a sell-out. Fault of the school for making this game in the top price range.

Ugh, the student section is TERRIBLE.  Not ONE student is even in the arena right now.  Back in my day, we just slept there until the next game.

I thought doors didn't open until an hour and a half beforehand?  So that would be another 45 minutes from now.

Did you have to walk up hill both ways too?

Yep. And had to fight off packs of wolves on the way. Some didnt make it due to cholera.

LOL.  Seriously, props to the student section tonight.  Loved the C7 chant.

As for the non-students (most of us here), most of you showed up at the last minute anyways.  You had work, they had class.  Or if you were like me you left work an hour early.  Quit bitching..

Alumni slacked today. But regardless of pure numbers, the atmosphere was insane.

AirPunches

6pm start on Monday comes up quick so I understand that there were some empties. As loud as any sellout though. Very good crowd.

6PM on a Monday is tough to make even for students.  My brother and sister-in-law are both students and couldn't make the game because of commitments (work and night class).  I'd imagine lots of upper division students have commitments at that time.
