MU up 2 with the ball in a tight game with Devantae on the line.  He misses badly on both and MU never really regains footing.  In these tight games their is something psychologically huge to get up by more than one possession.  Some times teams start to get tight and jack up threes to make up the difference which can lead to a bigger hole.

Nova had their chance to go up by more than one possession and they got a steal and a layup to move the lead to 5 and never looked back.  MU started chucking 3s to regain the difference.

Opening tip on national TV
you forgot the teal......
Funny how ESPN 2 is considered National TV when we lose, yet when we win a game it needed to happen on CBS or it didnt happen.

If we lost to the 1973 UCLA Bruins on Al Jazzera we would be complaining about crapping the bed on national TV

Junior unbelievably/inexcusably/inexplicably missing Wilson or what would have been an automatic two points.

Right Wilson slipping on the wet spot on the floor had nothing to do with it.  Good PGs can see those wet spots, can anticipate where their players are going to step, the angle of their step, and see the slip coming two steps before it happens and not throw the pass.

Junior cannot do this which is another reason why he is not a good PG.

Calm down...Already acknowledged in another thread after being educated, that's was watching in a bar with no sound and didnt realize Wison slipped.

I actually thought it was Jamil Wilson being wide open for the three, then he passed it and bounced off the back of Gardner's head.  MU was down like three and after that it went downhill.  Wilson should have taken that shot.

Ding ding ding we have a winner.  WTF was Jamil thinking?  Then he proceeds to chuck up 3 horrible 3's post shot/pass!

That was big, but you have to be ready for that ball. Junior turning it over trying to split a double team with MU down 3, which promptly turned into down 5 was also big. Too many boners plain and simple. MU was frustrated by Villanova's D, and it showed.

So all of your analysis is based on what you saw half buzzed in a crowded bar?  You know what this means ... You have now assumed the spot previously occupied by BMA725 as the most insightful person on this board.

I don't know about turning point, but when those two plays happen in close conjunction in a road game, the universe is saying that MU isn't going to win this game.

Dude, wake up on the wrong side of the bed, or what? Excuse me for living. I could be blind ass drunk in bar, and would still be able to recognize those plays were key to the final outcome, regardless of who was responsible. Get over yourself.

Mutaman

When Joe the bracketoligy dude came on and spent 5 minutes talking about Miami and Iliininois and the announcers simply ignored that Villanova was taking the game over. Inept and embarrassing.

mileskishnish72

Navin is right - the attempt by Junior to dribble through two guys was the clincher - hit one's foot, turnover, insurmountable lead (considering our O).

Relax, nothing posted on this board in the first 24 hours after a loss is worth anything, including my posts.

In the old days of the big satellite TV (80's)  that would be able to get a buddy sitcom from Pakistan tuned to your TV, MU would have lost to Centenarry by 45

At 12-7?

Nah. late in the second half.  We looked unprepared for the press and the aggressive man defense.  Trap game?

brewcity77

No real turning point. We played incredibly dumb down the stretch. 'Nova was not all that good tonight, we simply failed time and time again to capitalize. First time in Big East play we lost to an inferior opponent. Disappointed, was eying this game since Jan 26 as the possible difference-maker in winning the league. Need to rebound with a win Monday. If we don't win out, no chance of winning the league outright.

No real turning point.

This.  Basically two dozen terrible offensive possessions.  Turning points other listed were some of the more egregious ones, but no single one was THE turning point.
