Student Innovation: The Dancing Turgeons
« on: February 23, 2013, 12:22:08 PM »
There is a group of Maryland students who dress up like Coach Mark Turgeon, complete down to the white patch of hair on the side of his head. These guys actually join the Dance Team on the court for time outs. I thought this pretty original.

It made me think: Buzz would likely go along with something like this but could you see Crean's reaction? Jeesh!

How many dudes would shave their coconut for Buzz?
Crean would be nearly impossible to replicate. First off, finding 8-10 kids with as bad of a haircut as Crean is no small task, unless there's a Cost Cutters on campus. And, when was the last time you saw a men's shop advertise extra long ties?

Not to mention the amount of time needed in the tanning booth to duplicate his skin tone would be cost prohibitive for most college students.

Hey, step out of the box! Guys wouldn't have to shave their heads. In fact, it would be funnier if they spent $10 and got those rubber bald head caps. Bad plaid sport coat and voila! They are all set to do the Buzz Dance a la post DJO slam dunk.

As for Crean, do the Doper Split thing down the middle, slather on some Tan In a Bottle goo, long tie, Diet Pepsi Can, clapping, and a scowl. Good to go.

What I like about the dancing Turgeons is that they take the court during time outs and dance behind the actual Dance Squad. It is hilarious to watch.

They were the ones who led that fantastic flash mob/Harlem Shake when MD beat Dook.

I think we would have to be given around a week's notice before each to find clothes that are similar to what Buzz would wear. That guy is a flashy dresser.

The hair coloring expense would also be significant.   ::)
All this talk of rights.  So little talk of responsibilities.

So, we're not the best student section in the entire land?

You are aware I was talking about Crean right?  Not responding to the Buzz part.  I'd shave my head for Buzz in a heartbeat.

True dedication would be Ed Cooley fans shaving irregular bald patches into the backs of their heads.
Have some patience, FFS.

Wouldn't this board then rip the students for being unoriginal?

The student section is anything but original.  I believe, "you suck", big heads.  MU is a copycat in a copycat world.

Not if they dress up like Buzz. Now, if they dressed up like Turgeon, including the white patch of hair, that would be unoriginal. And weird.

I think getting dressed up like buzz with "sweat" all over your dress shirt would be great.
Thanks for ruining summer, Canada.
