My gut tells me if Otule comes back for his 6th season, Todd will be the one to part ways. Even when he does play well the kid never smiles. My hope is that Chris moves on and Todd works through all his baggage. He could be a really good player.

The truly great have never smiled between the white lines

TOUCHE! ...but it's basketball not baseball.

I hope Todd stays, too, because he obviously did enough academically to get back in Buzz's good graces. But other than than stretch in South Florida he has done much right. Even when he hit the 3-pointer to start OT in Cincy, he immediately followed that with two forced 3-pointers.

First, I think you have to include Gardner, because you said "anybody", right?

Secondly, I think we are just mixing together some criteria and semantics.

I agree that Mayo's points per minute numbers are good (as you have show), but I feel that is because he shoots a lot.

He isn't very efficient, and his eFG % numbers reflect that. He is behind Gardner, Blue, Jamil, S. Taylor, Otule (and maybe more, I don't have all of the numbers).

http://statsheet.com/mcb/players/compare?add=davante-gardner&p1=todd-mayo&p2=jamil-wilson&p3=chris-otule&p4=steve-taylor-jr&p5=vander-blue

He is a streaky shooter who is in his second year and is inconsistent. He is a good role player who is capable of having some good games. In the future, he could be very good.

BUT, I think statements like: "He plays because he can put the ball in the basket as well as anyone on the team. " isn't really accurate.

I'm not trying to nitpick, Lenny. I just keep reading statements like that over and over and the facts don't support that.

So in your world Vander and Todd are in a virtual tie for being able to put the ball into the basket, but neither rise to the level of a Chris Otule or Steve Taylor. We inhabit very different worlds.

Right, like he's all negative and no positive.  He had a bad game yesterday.  He had a good game against Pitt 3 days prior.  Do you have the attention span of a gnat?  When he's on, Todd brings a needed dimension to the team.

Since you asked, yes my attention span is lacking....I'm seeking medication.

I'm happy for him, that he had a good game. Simple fact is he's a chucker, he shoots 30% from 3. His turnover to assists is 1.5 to 1 and his body language is awful. It's looks to me like he doesn't even want to be on the court. He may put the ball in the hoop but so can others on the team more efficiently.

I don't feel that this is accurate:

He plays because he can put the ball in the basket as well as anyone on the team. He can shoot it and get to the free throw line.
I've presented the facts on why I don't feel it is accurate.

That's it.

Is this the newest vintage of the slap of five controversey?

Ha, not sure. I didn't have a problem with that, I expect players to get upset/competitive when things aren't going their way. I love the way the rest of players play. Competitiveness and attitude seem to be the main strengths of Buzz's teams. I just don't see it with him is all I'm saying.
