Blue, with Ox a close second

Blue. Kept us in it while the rest of the team was faltering.

JamilJaeJamailJrJuan

Not SOTG material, but Jamil had a great 2nd half. Just missed the double-double with 10 pts and 9 boards. If Jamil does that every night, MU is in real good shape. Last five games he has really found his role.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Blue because he is becoming so consistent ... another big game

bkooncy

Ox due to the great 13 foot bank shot!

I would vote for Lockett for all round play, not just the points.

9 points
8 rebounds
2 assists
2 steals
2 blocks

Wilson with 10 pts and 9 rebounds.

Blue was pretty much only thing we had going on O in the first half. Gardner was unstoppable -- and fun to watch -- as we pulled away. But from beginning to end, I thought Lockett was outstanding tonight.

Lockett gets my vote ... and he definitely has grown on me as the season has progressed. (I'm sure he's pleased about getting my thumbs-up.)

Blue, but I agree that Jamil was great tonight and will be huge down the stretch for us.

Blue  - Nice 34 minutes.

Death on call

Several games the SOTG went to someone other than Blue due to big second halves by guy. The UW game comes to mind with JR. playing very well in second half. Vander delivered the goods again tonight. My vote is Blue.

WarriorInNYC

Vander, he's the one that kept it going in the first half.  After him, I would have Jamil then Lockett.  Really, really impressed with how both of them played last night and how they have played the last several games.

paulpogo

Blue.

I know we shouldn't look at it this way, but this would also help the season long SoG tally.  For that to mean anything at all, Blue should be leading.

RushmoreAcademy

Blue had an amazing game and is becoming the guy this team needs, no doubt.
But I'm not looking at who was good during a terrible first half.    With the score 39-33 and still in the balance with 16 minutes to go, Ox scored 10 of 12 points in a 6 minute span and the game was then over.

1. Gardner
2. Blue
3. Lockett
4. Jamil

I guess that is one way to look at it, but consider the other side.  If Blue wasn't as good as he was in the first half, we are down 6, 8 going into the half?  Blue kept us in the game and still continued to play well in the second.

I understand the argument for Ox, had a great game.  But I don't like the "not looking at who was good in a bad half, but I'll look at who was good in a good half" argument.

I can't recall a SOTG thread where there were 4 legit contenders and if any of the 4 won, it would be justified. Let's hope we have more threads like these and we can make some noise in March.

Blue. triggered the separation and keeps evolving as the leader of this team.
"I went into a restaurant one night and ordered lobster, and the waiter brought me one with a claw missing. He told me that in the back there's a tank they keep the lobsters in and while they're in there, they fight and sometimes one loses a claw. I told him to bring me a winner."  Al McGuire

True, Schmidty, it's mice to have so many contenders. Winner, however, should be Van.
