All-Time Leaders

Vertical Jump      Dominic James          36.5"
25-Yard Dash      Dominic James          2.93 seconds
Pro-Agility           Vander Blue            3.85 seconds
Pro-Lane Agility   Wes Matthews         10.14 seconds
Squat                Dominic James          484 Pounds
Clean                Chris Otule                300 Pounds
Chin-up             Wes Matthews           41
185 Reps           David Diggs/Lazard Hayward  26

----------

That is all it said.  I'm not sure what a Pro-Agility drill is, Or a Pro-Lane Agility drill.  Also I assume 185 reps is bench press reps.  I assume "clean" is short for "clean and jerk weight lift (from the floor to over your head in two motions).

To me, the most surprising on the list is Otule.  For a 7 footer to clean 300 pounds is amazing.

Thoughts?

P.S.  I assume the data do not go back that far but I can imagine that Faisal Abraham, with his arms, would have held some of these records.

My only thought was did D Wade opt out of all drills?

Did not say when they started but I'm guessing they are since the Al was opened.

some amazing numbers..
Honestly I would have thought others as well As Dominic would have had more than a 36 inch verticle.  Didnt DJO have 38 or 41 at the NBA combine?

edit

41 chin-ups for a guy that is 6'5" and over 200lbs is freaking amazing!

David Diggs is pre-Al, pre-Wade.

I was just going to say that the 41 chin up reps might be the most impressive.

It's amazing to think of how good of athletes some of these guys are. Dominic James and Wes were off the charts athletes.

I think it would be incredibly cool if player Senior stats vs their Frosh stats were available.  That way we could see the difference that Todd's strength training made.
All this talk of rights.  So little talk of responsibilities.

Lee Chin-Yong (Korea), achieved 612 chin-ups at Jongmyo Park, Seoul, South Korea on 29 December 1994. Aged 70, he completed them in 2 hr 40 min.

They probably had a couple measures in the Diggs days and added more in recent years.

I've noticed all of the records are held by guys post the year 2000.  When some of the "seasoned" vets bring up BO Ellis, doc rivers, etc playing, they say how dominant they were, and how special it was to watch them play.

I'm only 24 so i didn't get the opportunity to watch the Al days, my question is, do you think a team with the newer generation players (Lazar, Dominic, Dwight, etc) would dominate the older generation if they were in their prime?  It seems that athletes today are more explosive, better conditioned, have more advantages, etc.

Well, sure.... I mean he's got chin in his name for cripesakes.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Palms facing outwards = pull up.  Facing inwards = chin up.

A "clean" would mean only getting it to the first position on your shoulders.  The "jerk" is from the shoulders to above your head.

A 484 pound squat is pretty damn impressive for DJ.  That is probably why he also has the vertical he does because a squat is almost all legs.

I also agree with Sultan's assessment of a Clean.  Usually thats called a Power Clean to differentiate from a clean and jerk (lifting over your head).

The difference between the pro agility and lane pro agility, is pro agility is run one way to your side, then come back the other side the same difference, and finish in the middle.  Lane Agility is running around the bball lane twice (i believe).

Lazar's freshman v senior #s were in the media guide a few years back. His improvement was inhuman, but I don't recall particulars
