Which might be his biggest contriution in being a "gunner" in prepping for opponents. I'm fine with that until he gets his shot back.

The only way Jake sees the floor is his three point shooting, which this year is not there...  he seems to be so intent on proving it that one usually can't blink between the time he enters a game and jacks up a (brick) three...

I was the one who put the shots into the interview. He didn't start doing the shots until after the interview was done. We were practicing-how to miss free throws on purpose-because of the situations in Marquette and Wisconsin games. I don't even remember how or why he started shooting the "trick" shots. But once he did, I noticed how good he was and told the cameraman to start shooting. The rest is on tape.
I would add that I wanted to add the shots because I thought the interview was so negative. The idea of the interviews is to be fun and positive. Hasn't been much of that for Jake this season, and I was really impressed with his willingness to recreate the Green Bay shot. But I still wasn't happy with it and was elated when we could add something with positive energy to the piece. This is likely more than you wanted to know.
I probably root the most for Vander to do well, but Jake has moved into second place. I know he can shoot. He needs a game in which he can get 5 or 6 tries, but I understand that's not likely given how he's played. Bottom Line: I have no problem with people being negative about Jake, but relative to the trick shots-that's on me.

Maybe Crean can get LaRussa to talk to Jake about having a more positive in-game attitude

Thanks Homer.  It always seem that you and the players have a lot of fun during those segments.  And for a player that's struggling, getting in their own head can be the worse thing for them.  I linked it here, because it is fun - and nice to see him have some fun in a down year for him. 

I'm optimistic on Jake.  I think we all know he can shoot, but being patient isn't always a reality on the internets, or as rabid fans.

The shot is definitely there.  It's Jake who gets lost while in the game.  If/when Jake learns to play without distraction on the bigger stage, he'll be able to contribute.

Mark Titus, the Club Trillion guy, could swish it in all manner of ways but that still didn't equate to playing time. His blog was always great reading, back in the day. What I think we forget is that walk-ons are still far better athletes than the rest of the student body. If you watch Titus' videos he can do amazing things with a basketball. Put a 3 star+ athlete in front of him and the slight difference in talent is magnified.

In defense of Jake.  He saved the day against Butler.  If it wasn't for the miracle shot at the buzzer for Butler I would of voted him SOTG for saving Marquette from a major choke job.
