1) Some have been harping at how Syracuse and Louisville are so much head and shoulders above the rest of the league, and that MU isn't close to their level.  Interesting Cuse had to rally from behind at home to squeak out a win against UC - albeit with Cashmere Wright contributing a a 2-13 performance from the field.

2) Texas is 0-5 in Big 12 play thus far...yes...that is making me paranoid.

"I'm not sure Cadougan would fix the problems on this team. I'm not even convinced he would be better for this team than DeWil is."

IMO, don't waste your paranoia on Texas....I think Barnes is safe.  Use it on Mizzou.

Im getting annoyed with Barnes in the same way that I was annoyed with Norv Turner for so long. It's clear he sucks but somehow manages to fool just enough people to keep his job for another year...and then another year...and then another year.

That's the barrel we're scraping this year?  Missouri?

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

No game this week.  Might as well start early.

Just because UL lost at home doesnt make them a bad team. Their only two losses come from 2 top 5 teams. They have also won every one of their games convincingly (the UK game was no contest for the first 35 minutes but the final score makes it look like a closer contest than it really was).

I am not as high on SU as some people on this board. While it did seem to take a miracle to beat UC, they did manage to beat the No. 1 team in the country on the road...and without one of their best players. UC zoned them almost the entire game. Without Southerland, I think they are vulnerable since they cant consistently hit from 3. If he comes back, they will have an answer for a zone. I also think you are ignoring that we have struggled for long periods of time in a lot of our wins (unlike UL). SHU had 7 scholarship players and a walk-on and they made it a game on the road.

Would Mizzou really be a step up? I can understand a jump to Texas but why Mizzou?

AirPunches

It would be a complete slap in the face to Marquette's program and its fans if Buzz left for Missouri. Missouri?! C'mon. If Buzz leaves, he will do better than that.

Is Mizzou a basketball school or a football school? I want to say, "neither." Strange fans.

Why Mizzou? Are you just messing with us since Haith seems to be on his way out?

+1 on Texas.

Barnes has earned some rope to hang himself with.  After years and years of good teams, to can Barnes after one year of struggle speaks volumes about why you do not want to go to Texas ... you'll be out in two years if you don't get things turned around real fast.

Barnes is not going anywhere unless he wants out.

Buzz did serve a 1 game suspension this year.  Doesn't make him a dirty coach, but might be enough to keep Mizzou away.

Seeing they hired Snyder and Haith it may make them MORE interested.   :D

Now there's an intriguing strategy...dirty Buzz up a little....

Oh, wait, that would actually making him MORE attractive to some schools....
Have some patience, FFS.

Texas would be crazy to can barnes. This years team has a lot of extenuating circumstances, and texas has made 14 straight NCAA tourneys.

Yeah... just like the one that hired our last head coach.

Texas is a football school first and foremost.

Mack Brown will be gone before Barnes goes.

Its both. I have family from Missouri and I think you guys are all underestimating Mizzou a little bit. Its a pretty rabid fanbase with lots of support. Other D1 sports are very limited in the state (SLU for basketball., and that's about it), professional sports are a joke outside of the St. Louis Cardinals, and there is no NBA team. People love the Tigers.

I'm not saying it would necessarily be a step up for Buzz, but it certainly wouldn't be a step down. I do think Texas is ultimately the bigger threat but I could see Buzz just wanting to get into the Big 12.   Scratch that. Forgot Mizzou went to the SEC. Damn realignment...can't keep track of it all.

I forgot that it is Mizzou that is the school that just recently received massive pledges earmarked for the athletics department. They are in the process of raising $200M for facilities upgrades.

swoopem

Didn't Buzz already turn Mizzou down before they hired Haith? That was the same offseason (2011) when he also turned down Oklahoma, Texas Tech or A&M or maybe both, as well as Oregon and we got the "don't mess with happy" quote. And yes, I'm fully aware that things have changes since then.
Bring back FFP!!!

They're better than SMU, and you saw where that took people.
