seems like a great young man and a nice addition to the program.

He seems like a great kid. But lets be honest, he's just going to be another addition in the College of Communications. Can't wait to see him play though.

Weird response.

Weird response.

What I meant by that is that like all basketball players, he will go into the College of Communications. It's seen as the easiest college/major as I'm sure you know. He talks of working hard in school and I completely appreciate that, as I see he should also focus on his schooling. But like all others before him, he will simply choose the "easiest" major. But I cannot wait to see him play. I think he's going to be great.

Oh for f*ck's sake. He'll major in what he wants to major in. Maybe he's interested in broadcasting. What the hell difference does it make?

God, some of our "fans" are dicks.

Speaking of yourself I presume?

Sweet comeback, bro. You got me.

(; just because you are older than me and have been affiliated with the school longer than I have does not make me any less of a "fan" than you. I, like you, am entitled to my opinion and would appreciate if you didn't belittle me or call me out on my devotion to the team and university. thanks.

Then why are you ripping a kid for what major he *might* choose, implying he wants to take the easy way out?

That's some devotion.

So are you saying that anytime I or anyone else criticizes a player that doesn't make them a fan? I'm sure people called Mayo unintelligent or whatnot for being ineligible, are they not fans or devoted? Those that called out Davante or those that kept saying that Blue was a bust, using your logic, are they not devoted? Nearly every single player goes the Communications course. I somehow don't think that will change.

This thread is about a great video of one of our future players and you turn it into garbage.

MUfan12

I'll be critical when it's deserved. What you said about Wilson was dumb. Just own it. I don't get the hang up on the Comm school. As long as they go to class and graduate, what is the difference?

smrunner99

You are ripping a kid before he even has declared his major and assuming it will be comm.  Also you are ripping all the non-athlete students and alum who chose comm because they were sincerely intersted in it.

What majors would be acceptable to you by our players so that you could feel at ease that they were taking their studies serious?

susie90

Duane, you seem like a wonderful young man, good head on your shoulders, focused on all of the right things.  Can't wait to see you play!  Go Marquette!!!   ;D

Stretchdeltsig

Agree that the negative comment made was uncalled for.  Can't wait to watch Duane play for Marquette.  He looks like he will be a "difference maker" on the team.  I hope he gets the best education that he wants while he's at Marquette.

mubb34

Dominican vs Germantown almost here! Duane is a very special player!

With all the work they have to do outside of class, why is it a bad thing for them to pick the easiest major? They arent going to be biomedical science majors as a D1 basketball player. It would not work.

Bingo.

Bango.
The guy does something better than almost anybody in the entire country.  Not many people can say that, so let him go after that dream and not knock the kid for something so brash as attending college courses.

mileskishnish72

Gotta like the odds of his doing well, with Buzz on him, and those parents nearby.

You are a fool that needs to check yourself.  As a Advertising major that also earned a minor in Marketing (college of business), I loved the college of communications.  For someone to take a shot at an incoming freshman and the thousands of kids who have chosen an area of study is a testament to your ignorance and immaturity.

Dude, you graduated summa cum laude for your marketing of Kate.
