Hunt's commentary is no different than the way most of us feel while watching these close games.  He also mirrors the coach who always says after the game "we are not that good".

Hey dipsh*t, how many time do I have to say that the point was not about accuracy? The point is don't you think his titles could be a little more positive? Again, explain to me how leading Pitt at half, as 10 point dogs, is "hanging tough"? I've never heard of a team winning a game as hanging tough? Perfect example is shooting 60% at half but he chooses the bad defense as the title. Just an observation, apparently there has been a lot of anti Hunt posts on here. Good Lord.

cause we were 11 pt dogs? this is a non issue, really. ever watch any of mike hunt's video blogs? (thank god they stopped those!) the guy was a mega dose of valium. just the doods personae. his job aint to emm you rah rah. he's fine. a hella lot betta than lori nickel.

They guy has a negative  connotation to every post during the games. I've noticed it a few times and decided to look back at the conference games to see what he wrote. Note that they were leading at the half in every game, they were dogs in 2 of them.

Seton Hall - At the half: A little sluggish at home again : This seems to be a habit for Marquette.

Pitt - Marquette hanging tough: Literally

G'Town - At the half: Can't buy a basket: Marquette is shooting 30.3% at the half.

UCONN - MU at the half: Defense is optional: Marquette is shooting 65.2%.

They lead at half at it's considering "hanging tough"? Even when Marquette shoots 63% he takes a cheap shot at the defense, they gave up 27 points. Some titles when they win: Marquette hangs on again, Marquette wins in OT, Marquette hangs on against Georgetown (he likes the "hangs on"), Marquette beats Pitt in OT, wins first road game. Can't we get a beat writer that is, at the very least, a casual fan of Marquette?

Obviously, you have no idea what the role of a newspaper journalist is.

No, we can't have a beat writer who is a fan. Nor should we want one. If you want a cheerleader, listen to the radio, talk to your friends or hang out here on Scoop. If you don't want journalism, don't read the words of a journalist.
