The league organizers want to be referred to as the Basketball 7 instead of the Catholic 7.    C7 sounds like a group on trial for something bad.

My guess is if they don't get the Big East name through negotiations the conference will be the Basketball 10 or the Basketball 12.

I hope none of those names happen. A conference plays more than just one sport.

This will be marketed as a fanatical basketball conference; an urban, tough  as nails league.  Fans and teams crazed about basketball with a big city back drop... asphalt not grass...  Name should reflect that image if we don't get the BE name.
