He brings up the point multiple times of whether or not the BE Catholic schools have had enough of football realignment and whether or not they will decide to break away. At the same time, he professes his love of the BE while pimping UL to every conference. He is certainly toeing the line in this interview.

As bad as I feel for us, you have to feel even worse for Louisville.  Great Bball program, decent football program, incredible fan base.  There is no way they are going to the acc or big ten, and the sec doesnt look like it wants to expand at all anymore.  Big 12 or bust for them, and its leaning towards bust.

No, I'll reserve my worry for MU. Louisville can take care of themselves. Never cared for Pitino or those Louisville fans. Let 'em sweat.

+1

For all the hand-wring about MU we are in the second best situation, which is not optimal, but still ok.

Best situation - Establish D1 FB program that has been ranked recently.
Second Best situation - Non-football school that has an establish D1 basketball program that has been ranked recently.
Worst situation (which is where most schools are) - Middling to lower end football program

So yes the middling FB programs are in much worse shape than MU.  That includes decent basketball schools like Louisviile, USF, Temple, Cincy, and Memphis.  Frankly, they all might be screwed.

We are going to be ok, along with the rest of the basketball only schools, when conference realignment turns to basketball, after the football situation clams down.  And yes, it will turn to basketball.  While basketball does not generate as much money as FB, it generates enough money to matter.  So, when that happens, we will be ok.
