Okay, didnt some of us say he would be fine? But lets wait till the season is over...

Still only two games, and Mississippi State is probably the worst team we've played so far. Close between them and Colgate.

Not that I disagree with you but I think the amount of crap he took after 2 games deserved some reward.

The crap he took after 2 games was unjust, but I have a feeling the credit he'll get after 2 good games will also be unjust.

Vander Blue, where no topic ever does his play justice.

THEultimateWARRIOR

5-11 on three pointers this season. Keep it up.

Let's see if he can shoot on the mainland when the team gets home!

But seriously, good for him.  Hope this is the turning point.

to be fair, he did play awful those first 2 games, and very well these last 2. It is not hating nor slurping to acknowledge this.

No, he didn't. The shots didn't fall those first two games. They did these last two. It's a difference of inches, his game and shot selection has been pretty much the same.

BCHoopster

Saw the first half, he looked 110% percent better shooting then in the past.  His shot looks much better.  He is very important to this years team, nice to see Jamil playing better,
not sure on the half court offense yet, to much dribbling and standing around.  Best offense is to run.  Gardner has to be more decisive on passing, can not hold the ball.  This game
was good for them, after a tough lose, a simple victory.  The schedule was to difficult to open with anyway, this team needs some seasoning.  Has some talent.

Goose

I would think if Gardner was better dishing we could get a ton of slashing baskets. More passing by him opens everything up.

Most encouraging is seeing Vander score in the halfcourt - not sure any of his points today were in transition.  First time I recall seeing him hit midrange shots off the bounce.  Obviously hit 3's in the halfcourt as well.

These 2 games are a huge step in the right direction, and go along way toward alleviating my biggest issues with his play:  generally the lack of ability to score in the halfcourt.
Let's hope he keeps it up..if he can play at 75-85% of what he's been these last 2 games...MU will be very good this year.

Congrats to Vander...and those who have been his staunchest supporters...BrewCity, Sultan, etc.

Do we have to have a "Vander haters" thread every time he has a good game?

If he has a bad game, do the haters respond with "Where are all you Vander lovers" thread?

Can't we all just get along?

Nothing beats shoving some crap right back into the faces of the racist students who hate Vander on this board.

Blue played like a different player.  He is actually finishing around the rim.  I have said it time and time again.  If he learns how to finish, he can easily score 12 points a night.  He still looks a little awkward around the rim in that sometimes he rushes or uses the wrong hand, but its progress none the less.  I hope he builds on today.  We are gonna need him.

No, but many Vander haters are racist and students.

Vander is really coming into his own. He made some really pressing plays but seems to have cut down on his mistakes (ergo, he's playing smarter). And that shot of his looks waaaaayyyy more balanced and in rhythm.
