Clearly the Weather Channel has an East coast bias.

This is one time I wouldn't mind if he Midwest was featured instead of us on the east coast.  Hasn't even started raining here yet and only gusting to 40 mph and there are already some flooding from tides (and we're 90 minutes away from high tide) and some power outages from winds.

Hobbes:  What's misunderstood about you?
Calvin:  Nobody thinks I'm a genius.

Hunkered down just north of Boston, not much happening as of yet, think south of us will get the brunt.  But as I write this I imagine my power being out for the next week.

Thomas' Danish Delight

Rain and wind up to around 30-35 MPH here in the DC area.  All Metro travel, buses and trains, are shut down today.

My neighborhood has low power-outage threshold, so hopefully I don't get hit to hard.  If I do, I'll probably have to sleep at work, anyways.  Most people have either school or work cancelled for the day, but I chose to work in the ER so...at least I'll have power!

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Have some patience, FFS.

Dang... I'd hate to be (in) Bermuda right now.
That's an old shot. Storm center is nowhere near Bermuda any more.

Possibly the most hilariously-reviewed item ever on Amazon:

Meh... the reviews on How to Avoid Huge Ships were much better.

MU Fan in Connecticut

I have no power at my house in Southern Connecticut.  Trees are down everywhere.
I had a trip to the emergency room last night.  My only advice is to never drive in the middle of a hurricane.

Bummer.  Hope you and the family are ok.

The family is fine.  Thanks for asking.  The younger daughter decided to play Olympic gymnast with a kitchen chair right after the storm kicked in.  3 stiches later she's good.  Still no power.  Living in my mom's basement as she was unaffected.
