Awesome!
Laughed a little when I saw Durant and Lebron tied for player GMs would want most, hahah. Lebron is way better when it comes to being an all around player though.

TallTitan34

Durant is younger so you could have him for longer.

Yeah, I'm taking Durant everyday. Everyday.

James is a better player everyday. Everyday. And it's not even that close. I'll take James without questions for the forseeable future.

He is 3 1/2 years older than KD, but Lebron still isn't even 28.

Also, anybody who rates Kobe better than Wade is simply a fool. Statistically, there is simply no comparison.

And who votes for Ray Allen as the best SG in the NBA? Seriously? This isn't 7 years ago.

It's not close? That's laughable.

I'll give you defense and passing without argument.

Durant is a better shooter and overall scorer.

They are pushing rebounding.

Durant is a better finisher. Better from the stripe.

If I'm drafting number one in a NBA reset, I'm taking Durant.

James is easily the better player.  James has more miles on his odometer which might be the only reason you take Durant over James.

TallTitan34

I'd take Durant as he is younger and only getting better.

I love Wade but who would take him at this point of his career to start a franchise?

Also stay far far away from Dwight Howard.

Durant is a better pure shooter. That's it. Everything else Lebron is either better, significantly better (defense and passing by a huge margin), or it's a push.

Durant a better finisher? Now, that's laughable. Lebron shot 53.1% last year compared to Durant's 49.6% (and has him beat in career fg% by 15 percentage points). If Durant is a better shooter and a better finisher, how come he doesn't put it in the hoop as often as James?

Also, I see a lot of people say Durant is a better scorer. Please show me the stats that back that up. They have very similar per-minute scoring averages over the last 3 seasons. I think people say that about Durant because he's viewed as much more one dimensional.

I don't think win shares is the end-all, be-all of basketball stats, but it's a pretty good indicator and James has been worth at least 2 more wins each of the last 3 seasons. Now, Durant is obviously younger as you mentioned and might get better, possibly even be as good as LBJ some day, but right now I don't think it's much of a contest when comparing overall players. I think some of the Lebron hate is a little ridiculous (not accusing you of that, just saying in general).

Canned Goods n Ammo

I like Durant more (I just love watching him), but Lebron is the best player in the league.

He's great with the ball, he can play off of the ball, he distributes well, he defends, he rebounds, he hustles.

Honestly, other than being overexposed in the media, I can't think of a weakness. I guess his jumper isn't great to look at. Oh well.

I like Larry better than Jordan, but if I'm starting a team, I ain't takin' Larry Legend. Same for Durant vs. Lebron.

Knight Commission

In 2002 - 2003 when Wade and Novak were both sporting the MU uniform, they garnered a 48% FG percentage, ranking them only 15th in the country. They were not in the top 30 of three point % shooting.

In fairness, Noval didnt really take off until after that Louisville blowout his Junior year.

Blue Horseshoe

I'm w/ jmayer here. LeBron is the obvious choice. There is no need to create a narrative that says otherwise. LeBron is flat out the most dominant player in the NBA right now.

Otule's Glass Eye

During the Heat-Hornets preseason game last night a mention was made of when Wade and Ray Allen (now teammates) first met, when Wade was at MU and Allen was on the Bucks. Wade said the two teams would scrimmage and that Wade and Allen had some fun memories.

Benny B

The question was being asked of GM's as to who they would want on their team, not a bunch of 12 year olds playing 2K12 on XBOX.

Chemistry, baggage, salaries, potential, intangibles, marketability, etc. all need to be taken into consideration by a GM... decisions aren't made on statistics alone.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.
