I think he'll avg. 16+.

Look at his jr. numbers compared to Wes' Jr. #'s.

Very similar.

Put him on a faster, better team, and his shooting percentage could stay the same, but he'll simply get more shots. Unleashed, right?

If he has a good year shooting 3's (like Wes as a senior), Lockett could have a BIG year.

If Lockett puts up 16+ a game this is going to be a real tough team

There are a lot of candidates to be MU's leading scorer besides Lockett.

Gardner is MU's returning leading scorer with a 9.5 average. He certainly would have averaged double figures, if he had not gotten hurt. He would be my first pick, because he is a very good free throw shooter with the ability to draw fouls.

My next pick would be Mayo. Another good free throw shooter he can shoot from outside and take it to the basket.

It could also be Blue or J. Wilson.

There is so much balance that I do not see one of them getting significantly more shots than another player, so it will come down to offensive efficiency and there is no one that will be more efficient than Gardner.

One of Lockett's strengths is offensive rebounding, but that is also Gardner's strength.

Blue? If Vander Blue is MU's leading scorer, we're all in trouble.

Thanks for a great article.  I think Lockett will be our top scorer and best overall player this year.  Really like everything I've seen and read about him.

Haven't seen Lockett play, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Jamil Wilson really take a step up this year offensively. He the most talented player we've had since Wade. If he can just be more assertive, he'd be a very solid NBA prospect

Stronghold

There's no reason for me not to believe he wont average 13+.  He did it for 2 years at ASU and although they play in the PAC 12 its not like its the Horizon league.  Washington even put us out of the tournament a few years ago.

Above all else, I hope everything turns out for the best with his mother.
