Yeah, and I got Kate Upton, Erin Andrews, Sophia Vergara, and Bar Rafaeli doin' a five-some as we type.

Don't ruin the kid's dream! Imagine the Twitter blow up when none of those fine ladies appear...!
Relax. Respect the Process.

Who's the fifth?
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Make that 6, Murray. I added Marissa Miller.

It looks like Florida may end up being the team to beat for Embiid.  They offered him a grant-in-aid this summer.

Gator Country says that "Florida coach Billy Donovan and assistant coach John Pelphrey made the short trip over to Gainesville's The Rock on Thursday afternoon to watch 2013 center Joel Embiid."

The Gainesville Sun published an article on September 13 which made note of relationships Embiid has developed with UF players and players to be.  His new school is the Rock school.  The paper notes that "The Rock point guard Mitchell Wilbekin, the younger brother of Florida point guard Scottie Wilbekin, said the 6-foot-11 center is fun to be around."  Also, "Last season at Montverde, Embiid lived in the dorms while playing with current UF freshman Michael Frazier and 2013 Florida commitment Kasey Hill."  And, '"Michael Frazier, he's a really good friend of mine," Embiid said. "Kasey (Hill) has signed with Florida. I have many friends who are going there. I like coach Billy Donovan, he's a great coach. I heard he helped many big men to go to the league."'

Finally, a glimmer of hope?  "Embiid said he plans to announce his commitment in early November. He's been to the O'Connell Center for UF games and took an unofficial visit to Marquette over the summer."

Billy Donovan is meeting with Embiid for an in-home visit right now, per Embiid's Twitter account.

THEultimateWARRIOR

I hope we get one of the final visits. It would be nice to get him here for madness. He did take an unofficial here once already.

While I want to be optimistic, it looks like UF has got this locked down...

To be fair, Buzz was in-home with him yesterday.

Going to Milwaukee in 10 days on biz trip.  Driving.  Driving.

Then why is he waiting until November to decide?

If we can get him to MM in 13 days, I give us even money.

By that token, Kendrick Nunn is waiting until mid-October to decide. Players decide when they decide. But I still don't think it'll be UF. If he wanted UF, why hasn't he committed already?

I agree, Nunn committed the day after his in home.  Embiid had his in home with UF this past weekend.  Everyday that goes by that he does not commit to UF, our odds go up.

You placing or laying that bet?  I'd take even money on that "if" all day long.... I'd be giving much less.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Yes he met with Donovan and Buzz both this past weekend.  Since UF is the perceived front-runner, the longer he goes without committing, the better it is for us.

Side note:  I seem to remember that Buzz and Donovan are buddies.  Is that correct?  I wonder if they met at a Starbucks at the airport as they were coming/going.

Donovan doesn't fly to Gainesville.

Embiid is one of a number of players talked about as the current cover story for ESPN recruiting.  The story has a picture of Joel.

Here's a new writeup from Rivals.

dw3dw3dw3

He'll be visiting Texas this weekend and Kansas for their version of midnight madness. UCLA will be there until the end as well.

I get that Buzz is a great recruiter and Joel worked out in Milwaukee with Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, but at this point with all the big boys involved, it would be Buzz's greatest signing yet if he lands him.

kmwtrucks

UVA could be a sleeper here. Embiid has family in Virginia and the Cavs have done an excellent job of recruiting him to Charlottesville. I think Florida still has to be the team to beat because of proximity and how well they recruit the locals. Kansas has gone pretty strong on him and he likes their post play (at least he says he does). Louisville and Texas also going real strong on him and could get visits.

Pretty happy go lucky kid with lots of upside. I've had a couple of pretty high level college coaches tell me they think he will play in the NBA.
