Chris Otule Status?

What's the status of Chris Otule?  Has he gotten onto a court yet?  Is he running?  How's he looking?  Everything in line for him to be at Madness on October 12?

A couple of weeks ago Buzz said Chris would start running the court in straight lines. They still did not want him changing directions. Chris is making progress, but I think posters here that think he will be starting in November are being extremely optimisitc. His knee has to be able to support a very large body.

All the more reason to suspect that Gardner will be the starter and receive the lion's share of the minutes at the 5 spot. Otule's never been terribly skilled anyway and nearly a year away from the court won't help. Decreased mobility won't help his game either.

Talked to Chris the second week of the Pro-Am and said he was doing well. Said he could have played in it if he really wanted to, but figured to keep it safe. Sounded happy with the progress.

He is a defensive stopper in a league with very few bigman.  He can block a few shots and it is nice to know if you get beat that he can stop your man.  Offensively, he might give
you 8 points a game tops and maybe 6 boards.  If you put Davontes offensive game together with Chirs, you might get 20 and 10.  That is not bad stats for your center.  Does anyone
know how he really is doing?

BCHoopster I agree, this team is better with Otule.  He's not an offensive juggernaut but his presence on the court won't hurt us.  A legit 6'10"+ guy is rare these days it seems.

Is he a legit 6'10"? He certainly is big and listed a 6'11". My guess however that he is just short of 6'10" without shoes.

Saw Otule coming out of Humphrey this a.m.  Judging by the "eye test" he appeared to be struggling up the stairs to the sidewalk.  I asked him how he was feeling, and he replied with "feeling great man"
