I mean, Jeff Samardzija IS Jesus...

A couple of us on the board belong to a fantasy baseball league that will not allow
Samardzija or Jamir Moyer (digger's son in law) to play.  How's that for ND hate?

I've got a buddy (U Michigan grad) who set up his will - which sets money aside for his kids' college - with the explicit instruction to the executor that under no circumstances shall college funds be paid to the University of Notre Dame.  Michigan State & Ohio State on the other hand... no problem.

It's one thing to hate ND, it's another to leave a legacy of ND hate.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

My daughter would recite "Marquette rules, Notre Dame drools" anytime she saw ND on TV when she was 4 years old.

That Buzz answer won't exactly put the naysayers at ease.

Nothing short of a public a**kissing (in a literal sense, I mean) will, I'd imagine.

Quote from: smartassQ: Do you agree with Al McGuire when he said: "A Notre Dame grad will pick his nose to make sure you see his class ring"?

LOVE. IT.

Quote from: Larry the ADA: What a great quote! I've never heard that before. You have to love Coach McGuire, and you can just hear his New York accent when he said that. You obviously know I'm a Notre Dame grad. I loved my time there and am proud I went to school there. But I'm Marquette's A.D. now. I have learned about the legacy and many traditions of Marquette and have the utmost respect for not just the athletic program, but the entire institution. One of my sons even attends graduate school here. So there should be no doubt about my commitment and loyalty to Marquette. I'll be right there cheering for Marquette when we kick Notre Dame's butt this fall on the court. And for the record - I always try to use a handkerchief.

Not bad. Way to play the game, LW.

Knight Commission

Is our basketbal program spend truly one of the highest in NCAA? If no, why not spend more?

Have their been discussions about a basketball-only split off from the BE and under what conditions will that occur? If their have been discussions, who is leading the conversations? Us? Gtown?

If we had a bball spinoff conference, how would revenues be impacted?

How involved is ESPN in the conference realignment process?

Did Marquette make Buzz and Crean or Did Crean and Buzz make Marquette?

What else could he possibly say about Buzz? You have to let them get to know each other like any relationship.

If I were AD after the turmoil and chatter I would have left it as:

"Buzz is our guy to achieve the goals of this program"

Yes, it was I.  One of my favorite AL quotes.  I have always viewed ND as our biggest rival.  Best game ever attended was the game Doc Rivers hit the last second shot to beat ND.

What a needlessly antagonistic question. Way to make one of the most important people at the university feel welcome.

Me and Jim Duggan salute you Denver.    You're a true American, like Al.   Always question authority.
