Not upset, just think it's weak. Let's be honest, if it was ND or Madison giving out rings for tourney appearances and Sweet 16s, we'd be all over them.

I guess some people would because they are always looking for something.

I, personally, don't care. Those kids bust their ass all year. The team can give away whatever mementos they want.

Makes no difference to me. It could be bracelets, rings, etc. Whatever.

Wow.  Three pages arguing about the appropriateness of a S16 ring.  Riveting.

FYI, they gave rings out last year as well.  I'm sure other schools celebrate accomplishments too.  Recall the the entire 'scandal' at tOSU was about kids selling stuff they had received for participation in some secondary bowl game.

D1 players and coaches can receive up to $3780 in participation and championship awards...including a 24' HD TV for being in the BET.

As long as it's not a ring, it's fine.

Arguing over S16 rings/participation trophies, etc. = First World problem.

Here's what players get for participating in the Big Ten Tournament:

All Sport hoodie, water bottle, cap.

No more excuses for losing another recruit to Wisconsin, although it is a really nice water bottle.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

It doesn't work that way--even if Syracuse vacates its wins, we keep our 2nd place finish.  Just like Texas didn't become a Final Four team when Memphis vacated their win that put them in the Final Four.

So "vacate, no elevate" is not ring worthy.  Got it.
Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

...and Spartan3186 and Talltitan shoot the whole 'small time' argument out of the water.   The powers-that-be chose to commemorate it.   Hey, maybe that is what Buzz and Larry were arguing about.  ::)
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

Who is that?

BTW, whoever is holding this ring is an epic nail-biter.  But at least there is no crud under them.
Have some patience, FFS.

We don't know that.  Some very dirty things can blend in with the color of fingernails.

Are there any pictures of these rings actually being WORN?  Are they sized for the specific player or just made to be put.........inside of a box?
Thanks for ruining summer, Canada.

I think that holding a ring to take a picture of it is a guy thing.  A girl would never do that. Have you ever seen a picture of a girl showing off her engagement ring where she is holding it between her thumb and forefinger?

No, no.  A Ford Expedition for elite eight, the Navigator requires a final four appearance.  Second place is a Hummer, and national championship gets a Mercedes SUV.
