Looks like MU was granted permission to talk to Dorian Finney-Smith.

Over 20 schools contacted him but he has cut it down to 7.

Marquette, Florida, Iowa St, Texas, Georgetown, Alabama, and Villanova.

Will make decision by next month

Iowa State, really?  I guess building a reputation as transfer U. gets you a place at the table.

Hopefully, having one player from Virginia here, and another on the way helps us out.

3 out of 7 are big East schools.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

He was in a NBA front office, granted it was the t'wolves but still. I'm sure that carries some weight. Must be a great recruiter.

Yeah, of Ames.

Are you saying that being "The Mayor" of the 8th biggest city in Iowa does not have any influence with transfers?

Landing one more transfer might get MU the title transfer U. as well

What transfers in?   Lockett?    That's one.    The rest are JUCO's.    Buzz likes getting players who are hungry and who have something to prove and know they have to work.

Jamil and Jake Thomas.

Tj taylor is basically a transfer too. He just spent his year playing instead of sitting. Hey and if it works for ISU they might as well embrace it. Quick way to reload.

Will she be displaying 8x11 signs to illustrate who the final 3 are?

DFS can be a big, big time player

According the Gainsville Sun in a story dated on Thursday, Dorian Finney-Smith is taking the weekend to decide between Florida and Old Dominion.  Strange given that Old Dominion wasn't in Finney-Smith's final seven. Evidently, Dorian and his mother are not on the same page or the Gainsville Sun has "questionable" sources.

Here's the link to the Gainsville Sun's story.

In the same article, the Gainsville Sun claimed that South Carolina center Damontre Harris planned to announce between Florida and Kansas on Friday which apparently didn't happen.

Don't even think it, they aren't going to take MU back.

Dorian Finney-Smith Cuts List to Five
BY ADAM ZAGORIA ON MAY 21, 2012, 2:44PM

Virginia Tech transfer Dorian Finney-Smith has trimmed his list to five schools.

"Florida, Louisville, Texas, Marquette and Ohio State," his mother, Desiree Finney told SNY.tv Monday afternoon.

No visits are currently set but after the current dead period ends, Finney-Smith plans to begin taking visits.

"What I'm going to to now is I'm going to get with the coaches and see how we're going to do that," she said. "We're going to start some visits at the end of the month."

An ACC all-freshman team member in 2012, Finney-Smith averaged 6.3 points and 7.0 rebounds as a freshman. He started 30 of 33 games.

The 6-foot-8 small forward from Portsmouth, Va., opted to transfer after coach Seth Greenberg was fired.

Nice to see MU's name right along side some big time schools...as we are closing in on being a big time basketball school again...would love to land DFS..

We're a longshot, but, except for maybe a local kid (Novak?), we haven't even been mentioned in this kind of "final 5" since Al.
