Bo taken to the woodshed?
« on: April 19, 2012, 06:15:14 PM »
Initial reports have it that Barry Alvarez slapped the shyte out of Bo today for his bone-headed handling of the Uthoff transfer. Ryan is apparently outraged by this treatment and seriously fielding offers from mid-major programs.

Its all an elaborate scheme to reunite Bo and Uthoff at Illinois State once Jankovich leaves.

I'd love to see Uthoff go play for Bennett at Virginia and have them meet Wisky in two years in Charlottesville!

From the Journal-Sentinel:
"Earlier Thursday, Ryan appeared on ESPN's "Mike and Mike in the Morning."

Speaking by phone, he explained that because he had never spoken in person to Uthoff about the transfer, he wanted to force the appeals process to learn why Uthoff wanted to leave the program."

Hummm, nice attempt at spin doctoring there.  I give it a B-.  Forcing an appeal process is so much easier than just asking the kid.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

He got killed on every talk show that followed....to a person they said it really put Bucky in a bad light and would have recruits questioning whether or not they should play for him in the future.

Honestly can't remember the last time I heard a coach get grilled and vilified by every major sports talk host. He really made himself look foolish in the national media.

The old adage of any press is good press certainly went out the window with this escapade.

That's exactly what my response was when a coworker told me bo's reasoning.  I said its because he was acting like a 4 year old that got his toy taken away and broke it so nobody could play with it and those is a cover up for his immaturity.

As it was pointed out yesterday, the only people to come to St. Bo's defense and say this isn't a big deal were the d-bags/homers at 1250 (who I turned on on my way home just to see if they were talking about this - they were - and where they stood - take a guess.

And also as it was pointed out, the local media went apecrape over the MU players being at a bar, while the national media went "meh".

LOL

"The only way to get a kid to talk is to make him appeal."

Hmm...so calling him, like Seth Davis did...that one doesn't work, eh Bo?

"If I'm on the outside looking in, schools bordering all Wisconsin, they play the ACC, I didn't think I was playing some kind of jumble-buzzle here."

Uhh...what?

"When are people gonna start asking these other coaches why they did it? No, you live in this state, when is somebody gonna say 'wait a minute, there's something fishy here', don't you think?"

Yeah Bo, there's something fishy here, no one's doubting it, but that fishy smell is coming off your suit.

Ahh Bo...the more he talks, the deeper he digs himself, and the worse and more crazy he looks. Love the entertainment value.

This is the one I find most precious.  Especially when backed up by the mindless dweebs to defend bo.  If Uthoff is asking for a release, bo has the cards.  He can ask for a face to face, no actually demand it.  Telling him he won't give him a  release without meeting first.

But, there remain other options.  bo can still call the kid.  He did talk to him once when on vacation and according to bo, bo offered to return home.  (Uthoff claims this is not true).  If I were bo and I wanted Uthoff to stay, I would not have offered to return home, I would have returned home. But I digress, so that is the last time Uthoff would talk to ryan?  Uthoff would not take a call from ryan or meet face to face?  If that is true, the question is why not?  What did bo say or do during that phone conversation that irreperably ended any future communications?  Hmmm, did bo's famous temper and ego get the best of him?

Still, the fact that bo did not have an inkling of this coming or that the kid does not want to communicate with bo at all is telling.  Very telling.  A hot headed ego maniac who is out of touch with his own players.
