Would you want Uthoff to transfer to Marquette?

Yes
No

brewcity77

So Bo's craziness aside, if Jarrod Uthoff either went JUCO and wanted to transfer to Marquette in 2013, or if we had an open scholarship and he was open to transferring here in 2012, sitting a year, and then being eligible as a redshirt sophomore in 2013, would you want him here?

He's a 6'8" forward, could both score and rebound in HS, was Iowa's Mr. Basketball his senior year, and seems to be considered an average three point shooter. He needed to add size (came to UW in the 190-200 lb range) but 2 years would probably get him the muscle he needed to compete down low. General recruiting rankings had him as a 3-4 star prospect, in the 90-150 range (with ESPN listing him as a top-100 player). He also reportedly runs the floor pretty well for a guy his size.

Of course...there's also the dreamy scenario of the MU bus rolling into the Kohl Center in December 2013 and both Vander Blue and Jarrod Uthoff getting off the bus, which would likely irk Bucky fans to no end.

Is he traditional?

Yes, I would want him.  He's a good basketball player and he wants to talk to Marquette.  It won't happen because of the restrictions and I don't think he fits in Buzz's profile of player types anyway.

I voted yes just because if it was possible to get him it would piss the emperor off so much.

Not saying you are wrong, but do we know Marquette is one of the schools he wants to talk to?  I haven't heard anything about which ones he did want to talk to other than Virginia (which is apparently when Bo decided to restrict him from talking to the entire ACC).  All I had heard was that he submitted a list of 25 schools he would like to talk to and Bo denied half of them, and that Bo has a restriction on 25 schools.  From all of the rumors going around, it sounds like he wants to be closer to home and ISU was looking like a good place for him, but they restricted him from talking to them.

I read somewhere that he was appealing ISU, Iowa, IU, and Marquette. I'll see if I can find the link.

In his interview with M&M today, Bo mentioned us as one of the schools Uthoff was initially wanted to talk to and he denied that because they play us every year.

He wanted to talk to Marquette, Iowa State and a few others according to published reports.

When I watched his AAU highlight film back to back with Juan's, it was like they were filmed at different speeds.   I can see him being a Nnamaka/Fitzgerald type, but not a game changer in MU's system.   That being said, any skilled 6'8 guy is welcome.

If he can make shots, there's room. MU desperately needs someone who can stretch a defense a little bit.

ZiggysFryBoy

Even of the cat is the second coming of niv berkovitz, I'd want him just to see Bo's bigetyed reaction when he found out.

"that's f*ckin bullsh*t". Bo Ryan.

Isn't it amazing how media pressure changes things?  Good for the kid.

KenoshaWarrior

I no very little about the kid, but with that said I want to get him just to piss off Bucky.

brewcity77

So since he's not a HS player, can we all tweet at him that we'd love to have him at Marquette?  :D

butchbadger

He's yours if you want him.  I have the under. ;)

Earl Tatum

Bo is a dinosaur. He looks like he came from "The Planet of the Apes". I lost my respect for him because of the way he treated this case and probably had to be strongly persuaded. Ya, coaches can walk, but the recruit really can't do anything after commitment. Thought he had more class. No, I would not want Uthoff, want RODNEY HOOD

speri

Marquette is now free to hunt. Would be fun to get him just to piss off the weasels.

Watching your university get their balls kicked in for the last 2 days by a 19 year old kid and a reporter from a small paper in Iowa.  Priceless

We all know Bo Ryan is a bagofdicks much like the Wisconsin fans and now having that put on full display for the nation to see.  Priceless

Bo Ryan stumbling and bumbling his way on a national television show this morning, cutting his own legs out from under him and losing credibility with every breath.   Priceless

The entire episode self inflicted by an out of touch, petty, vindictive, bag of wind who has no problem wanting transfer rules to be changed to get Brust to Wisconsin, but can't stand the thought of one of his kids leaving.  Priceless

Chadima.  Ryan-Uthoff-Gate.  It is only April.  What will next semester bring?  Priceless

If this is the worst PR the program gets, I feel awfully good about it comparitively.

That is the point.  Glass houses.  You guys throw rocks constantly and with Ryan-Uthoff, Chadima, etc, it has been hysterical to observe.

Don't you have some MU and Buzz ripping to do on your message boards?  The ones where you state Buzz cheats and MU is taking tests for kids.

I don't know how good he is, or of he could play here, but if so, if Buzz is as smart as I think he is, he should be all over this kid. MU and Uthoff could both shove it up Bo's ass simultaneously.

My guess is that at present a transfer to MU is probably Bo's biggest fear about this situation. Going to play at home at Iowa State can be explained away, going to play at MU, not so much.

Exactly.  So maybe Badger fans shouldn't act so holier-than-thou in the future.

I want him if Buzz thinks it can improve the team.  I do not want him just because he is a UW transfer.  That's small-time thinking.

MuMark

It wasn't media pressure....Bo just decided to do the right thing...... ;D
