Was just thinking about Jameel McKay, who I have no idea if we have serious interest in, but it got me thinking about the Wilson commit last week, and the local recruits in the next couple years (Looney, Stone), and how happy I am we signed Deonte Burton.

When he committed, I remembered all the talk about how he wanted to be the face of Milwaukee. I can't help but think that Duane Wilson deciding to stay home might have been helped by Burton doing the same thing. And as Marquette looks at more Milwaukee products, my guess is that having Deonte Burton in the fold will help improve our odds with those kids and close the city's borders.

I'm very glad Deonte has faith in Milwaukee's college team, and I can't wait to see him in the Blue and Gold. Quite possibly Buzz's best commit to date, and not just because of the immense talent he brings to the table, but the other talents that might follow him here.

EDIT: Oh...and if we're going to get our own version of the Flintstones, may I suggest the nickname "Brewsers"? Nothing to do with my name, only that if they're playing for Buzz, we know they'll be tough, and they're all from the City of the Brew. Seems appropriate to me ;D

what about "the movement"?

MUCam

What about the "Golden Eagles"? That is a unique and courageous name.

The Milwaukee Warriors.

By the way, who are the posters that were looking for ideas for the student section names and whatever else?  How about just calling the students the Warriors?  Or if you want to stick it to the administration since the Warrior logo apparently was offensive to American Indians, call the student section The Reservation.

But I forgot, we're the Golden Eagles and the students don't identify with the Warriors anymore (even though myself and all of my Warrior friends were in school just a year ago...) and I need to get over it.  My fault.

Well then all you GE fans, how about:
The Aerie?.... The Nasty Nest?....The Eagle Droppings?....Bottom of the Bird Cage?....Feather Dusters?  (Yadda, yadda, yadda)

I'm a Warrior through and through, but the "Eagle Droppings" is pretty funny.
