Actually, he was a sophomore.  "The Champaign, Ill. native averaged a team-high 13.8 points and 4.8 rebounds as a freshman at Drake." (from Rivals)

Durley is our lowest rated incoming player, but so was DJ newbill and he turned out to be awesome.

Sounds like too many good players are interested in coming to MU, which sure beats the 3 amigos and lazar waiting every year for someone good to sign up and help them.

Not necessarily. None of us have any idea what is going on behind the scenes. Has someone already decided to transfer and informed Buzz, but wants to finish out the school year before announcing? Has one of our recruits discovered the need to pursue the JUCO route because of academic troubles but is finishing his HS school year to see what options are best for him? We have no idea.

And being in on 6 guys for 1 scholarship (if the staff knows of one that will be available) is no big deal. You always want options, because the odds in any recruiting scenario is that you are going to get a whole lot more "no" answers than you will "yes" ones. So you put yourself out for many guys in the hopes that when all is said and done, you can accept the best option out of the couple guys that actually want your scholarship.

My only concern right now is if there is a transfer, who might be on the way out. It's easy to point the finger at someone who isn't getting a lot of minutes, but might there be other reasons? Maybe a player who just isn't as happy as he thought he'd be? Or a guy that is being encouraged to explore other options because of off-court issues? Starters and even potential stars transfer from other schools, there's no reason it couldn't happen to us as well.
