Ranked number 18 in the country by rivals.com.  Seen him in person and his athleticism is off the charts.  Smooth stroke from deep as well.  Make him a priority right now.  He's making an unofficial to Illinois.   Don't make the HUGE mistake of letting him get away!!!!

I kinda think Buzz and crew are doing all they can to get the best players we can.

Tugg Speedman

The fact you feel the need to beg Buzz to make Nunn a priority suggests you're not really paying attention.

Were going to be one of the final teams in on Nunn. He likes MU and I bet he wouldn't mind playing along side Taylor. The only thing holding this back from being set in stone is the scholarship situation. We just do not have any more available for 2013. That being said, a shake up is possible. Not that I want anyone to transfer out, but it is interesting to note someone has left the program at least once every year since Buzz is at the helm.

What's he supposed to do, handcuff him to the bedpost?

gotta kidnap him in a midnight limo first, aina?

Tugg Speedman

So are you saying the last player Calipari will have to pay for is Davis?

jonny09

I'm paying attention.  I know that he knows what's going on.  Have tons of faith in Buzz.  Just got a little spooked he might not be a priority after we signed Duane Wilson who is also a great talent.  Just don't think at the same level as Nunn

Markusquette

I'm very happy for Wilson and can't wait to see him suit up.  Would be cool to have Nunn but I won't hold my breath.

So Buzz is supposed to pass on a potential top 100 guy because he is recruiting someone else?

Further, if Nunn is so worried that Wilson verballed with MU that he's looking at a dysfunctional Illinois program, he is over-rated.

jonny09

Don't think I said that????  Anyways, I think we can both agree we are MU fans.  Don't see a reason for the angry post

You must be new here...  :D

Don't mess up my missing on the 18th player in the nation and have to settle for some no-name, unranked high school player like Davante Gardner or Todd Mayo!

brewcity77

Nunn had his chance and didn't want to commit, so we took Wilson. I have a feeling a lot would have to change for us to find room for him now. Not saying it couldn't happen, but I think it's unlikely.

I think we should have learned by now that waiting is a dangerous proposition.  One in the hand is worth two in the bush.

Goose

MU is not in position of waiting for players to decide. In addition, with Wilson you are also recruiting Stone down the road which is good thing.

Turn it around ... if Nunn committed two months ago, would we still be recruiting Duane Wilson?  I say yes.

Unlike most on here I would never stop recruiting. would always be looking to upgrade at every position every year. All I keep hearing is about not schollie's available and no room at MU. If we had Nunn I do not think we would be recruiting Wilson. Again, I would keep chasing best players that can make us better.

We have our guard and used our last scholarship. Forget about Nunn'

Sure hope the staff doesn't share that view. Never know when someone will leave.

If there's a top 50 player that at one point was near committing, you keep on him.

chapman

The end of our bench is not exactly stellar.  Banking on 3-4 players to show vast improvement but also have everyone content with their playing time sounds unreasonable.  Just go for the talent, we'll find a spot for him.  IIRC, you can oversign by one, correct?  And with Otule not "official" until the end of next year, we would have an extra spot to sign in the fall, so we'd be allowed to sign Nunn.

Just looking at next year, I would assume the starters will be Otule, Junior, Wilson, Blue, and Mayo. That gives us a bench of...

Gardner: Great experienced low-post scorer with improving D
D. Wilson: Got some good experience, great defender, passable backup point
Anderson: RSCI top-100 with experience, good D, hustler
Jones: RSCI top-100 with experience, streaky shooter, can back up 2-4
TJ: Likely NJCAA, earned valuable experience at Paris
Steve: RSCI top-100, highly regarded but inexperienced
Thomas: Scholarship player in low-major team, sniper
Ferguson: Wing project
Durley: Big project

I would say that of those guys, most would expect that 7 of 9 guys on our bench could provide at least some valuable minutes. The other two are likely projects, but with a full compliment of players, most schools that aren't UNC, UK, or Duke have a couple of those. Honestly, I think this is the best bench we've had in memory. A mix of talent, experience, and hard work. I'll gladly take it.
