Former University of Michigan Coach Bo Schembechler has died this morning

Bo Schembechler, a legendary coach of college football at the University of Michigan has collapsed and died soon after being rushed to the hospital. Bo was at WXYZ, a Detroit television station taping a program in preparation for the big matchup tomorrow. The game pits #1 Ohio State versus #2 Michigan in a first ever meeting of the storied rivals as the top two teams in the country.

Another layer for the build-up.   Can't wait myself, although the idiots at AYSO scheduled my daughter's soccer game at kickoff.

Same with my daughter's game So.Cal...then their "party" is after at Build-A-Bear at Disneyland.  Ugh.

Bo was truly a great man.  I knew him when I worked at U of M athletic department in the 80's.  Behind his gruff exterior was a sweet guy.  He knew I went to marquette and always had wise ass comments to make about Al, who he was good  >:(friends with.  It is  a sad day for the Maize and Blue.  My prayers are with his family--may he rest in peace.
