Buzz,
If you do indeed read these posts please note that Goose thinks you are best thing to happen to our program in 30 years. Much appreciate your efforts, recruiting ability, loved and I mean loved the dance and the style of ball you play. You made this a special season and it did not go unnoticed. My advice is stick around and make history. Another coach who ruffled feathers did quite well here.

Kick some ass in Phx.

Actually I hope you are napping or enjoying your family tonight, but certainly not reading message boards.........

LON

Well put.  Though 30 years ago LancesOtherNut was just a...I'll stop there.  I appreciate all the "old timer" knowledge on this board and wholeheartedly support Buzz.

Dear Larry Williams,

You better be on your game domer.

Dear Tom Crean,

I think I have a cuffling that you dropped in 2005.

Warriors4ever

I don't think so National, I'd grab it before someone else does.

Buzz,

Being a Marquette alum (Engineering, 82) who bleeds blue and gold, my ideal basketball team consists of coaches and players who not only win and win at a high level, but also who represent the qualities of a fine Jesuit university.  You are those ideals personified.  I hope you never leave.

Kick some a## in PHX,

AZWarrior
All this talk of rights.  So little talk of responsibilities.

Concur Buzz, you're doing a fantastic job to say the least, you've been my favorite coach ever since I saw you on campus and you gave me and 8 friends free tickets to the Louisville game your first year.  Really appreciate that.

On another note, if in fact the players, coaches, whoever reads these message boards takes it seriously when fans come down on players, is in my opinion a bit "off."  Of course fans are going to get pissed off when you take a huge $hit during the BE Tournament.  Name one team that doesn't have fans that get pissed when the team they love decides not to show up? I love Buzz more than anybody,  but to get mad when only "2 fans" are clapping as the team gets on the bus after a performance like that, is to be expected. It's a game of emotion, for fans and for players.  I know in all of the competitive leagues i played in for sports, if our team didn't win or didn't show up when we were suppose to, none of the parents, fans, etc clapped.  I really don't understand Buzz's thoughts on that.  Perhaps I'm more pessimistic or in my words realistic then most, and i don't think a team deserves praise after a performance like that.

These gentlemen are getting full scholarships to play basketball.  I think they are entitled to some criticism when certain games like that happen.  They certainly get a TON of praise when things are going well.

Anyway, keep up the great work  Buzz!!  Let's go Quette!

All Buzz has to do to get to the Final Four is get past Donovan and then beat Izzo or Pitino. No sweat!

Dear Buzz,

As fine a coach as you are, we appreciate you even more for what you are as a person, a molder of young men, and a representative of our University.

We hope you stay here as Marquette's coach until you retire from coaching to spend time with your grandchildren.  Or better yet, your great-grandchildren.

"If you don't have a chip on your shoulder when you get here, I'll give you one" or something to that effect was Buzz's quote. It wouldn't shock me if Buzz is using that as a motivational tool. He mentioned the boos last year.

As for Buzz, I love having him here and hope he will be here for a long, long time. He's so easy to root for and the players love him. I hope the administration realizes how big of a mistake it would be to force him out (assuming any of that stuff is true, which I have no idea of).

We have a new President and a new AD - and I hope that they both love Buzz as much as we all do and that see the absolute value (in ALL respects) he brings to our great Jesuit University.  He has been the best face for Marwquette in a long time, continually gets us national attention, and has jsut gone back to back Sweet 16s.

He lives the Marquette ideals.  We want Buzz to be part of the Marquette family - and hey, when you're in a family you are in it for life!

Go Buzz and Go Marquette!!

Dear Buzz,
After yesterday's game, there were a couple of shots of you and your happy family happily hugging each other on the sidelines.  Won't it be nice to watch your lovely children grow up? They'll want you there to see, help, and guide them into adults. Take steps now to make that happen.  Get some rest, dad.  Get some rest.

Dear Buzz,

When Mrs. Williams starts talking 'vacation' after the season ends, listen closely to lion tamer #1 and then call Coach Tony to cover your schedule that week.

I think this is the first time since 75-76 and 76-77 that Marquette has made it to the sweet 16 in consecutive seasons. If so, Buzz has already topped all of his predecessors dating back to Mr. McGuire.

🏀

Buzz,

There is one person in this University that is not considered to be expendable, that is you.

If Pilarz or Larry Williams decide otherwise, there will be a very vocal backing for their poor decisions.

Keep being you, which is nothing short of awesome and you will be forever loved. If you don't think so, ask Dick Strong.

Signed,

A season ticket holder and donating alumni.

Buzz is a bigger asset now and going forward than Dwyane Wade. Lose him and I swear to God I will cancel my season tickets. He's irreplaceable.

jeffreyweee

Buzz is the most integral part of this program. I don't think there is another coach in basketball that loves his kids as much as Buzz loves his players. He teaches the kids how to be self respecting humans after coming from mostly rough neighborhoods. The fact that he is also a damn good coach, recruiter and quirky individual is gravy.

Someone needs to get Buzz a link to this thread before they go play Florida. He needs to not think, but know that he's wanted here beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Not only Buzz though. These kids, their basketball games aside, are all great kids. They always seem to be having fun and seem to genuinely enjoy helping people worse off than themselves.

Finally,

I'm going to crap my pants in celebration when we go lock down Florida. This team is just getting started in the tournament.

I don't have any idea what goes on behind the scenes, but no matter where the chips fall after the season....I just wanted to say thanks for all the work this season.

The heart you guys have shown as a team has been incredible to watch.  Regardless of what is said on this board, every true MU fans feels the same way and is proud to have you rep MU.

Can't wait to see you guys take it to Florida on Thursday.

I never liked the internet much... not so much what it is but what people make of it.  There's a world of information at peoples' fingertips, but 95% of the people online right now would rather use it to "friend" their uncle's dog or watch porn than enlighten themselves.

MUScoop is a step up the rung, but we're still a bunch of garden-variety idiots.  We post anonymously on a college basketball team message board primarily because we're bored.  Granted, we do it because we love Marquette, but if that damn counter in the upper left of my screen is accurate, I've wasted 16 days and 45 minutes of my life typing away (mostly, it seems these days, while looking at a picture of Jae to the left).  Someday I'll perhaps regret the loss of that time, or I may look back on it as the distraction that kept me sane.

So if I can impart one word of advice to you, don't waste your time here looking for wisdom, insight, or inspiration... there is none to be found.   Waste your time here to get away from reality, if only for a minute, and laugh at us idiots who don't know a damn thing - but think we know everything - debate the extremely important topics (e.g. what we think you should name your pet chinchilla, if you ever got a pet chinchilla) in considerable & unprecedented depth.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.
