Was at the game last night...had a great time.  Back in the Cup for the 2nd time in four years.   Detroit fans behind me were complete tools the entire night.  The video is great...just sent it to my wingnut friends.  Hilarious.

Good thing u were at the game. On TV it was pre-empted for a replay of the Preakness pre-race program.  A 0.1 rating, I presume.

I'm not sure if there's anything I care less about than hockey. That includes bowling, Nascar, horse racing and ultimate fighting. Hockey is dead to me.

It's a tremendous game in person, not so great on television.  I wouldn't trade the in-game experience in hockey to any other sport but unfortunately that translates so poorly to the television.

People don't watch hockey because people don't play it. It is by far the most difficult sport to play. Anyone can play baseball, football or basketball or drive a car. How many people can skate well enough to even attempt hockey? Plus, the sport translates horribly to TV. On the other hand, there is NOTHING that compares to the final few minutes of a Stanley Cup game if it's close. I've been to Super Bowls, NCAA tournaments, World Series, U.S. Open tennis and golf, Sugar Bowls, heavyweight title matches, etc., and there is nothing more dramatic than hockey.

I was born in MN, so I've been exposed to a lot of hockey, and I have to agree with the sentiment here that it is an awesome sport, but doesn't translate well in the modern age.

Modern sports are really about television.

I think football is the best sport to watch on TV, and I think that is why the NFL is soooo huge now.

I think baseball, hockey and college hoops are better live events than football... but again, in the modern age only 50K may be at the stadium, but millions are watching at home. Football caters better to the millions at home than any other sport. Hockey doesn't really work on television unless you are a hardcore fan. You have to see it, here it, feel it live to make you realize the skill level and speed that it takes to play pro hockey.
