Worst game of the BE season for Marquette?

Overrated chants...ugh. Steams a bit, but we've enjoyed a whole season being ranked so..."it's okay."
Yeah, had the same thoughts and feelings.  Want to forget this one.

Notre Dame was a larger loss, but MU was in it for most of the game.  Never in this one.  I would agree, worst one.  Time to forget and get Georgetown.

So ... At least two games like this (ND, Cincy, Vandy?). Why? What makes this team so hot and cold? Against ND I thought it was clearly rebounding...it meant every missed shot hurt twice as much.

Anyway, it's been a great season. Going to try not to let this one get to me too much.

ND was different.  But multiple, athletic bigs like Vandy and Cincy have are going to give us trouble.  That is why Georgetown could be a bad match up too.

All 3 of those teams are much bigger than MU and have good inside, outside games.

Biggest numbers to me: 34% shooting and 18 turnovers vs. 9 TO's forced.  No offensive rhythm and a lot of turnovers.  The turnovers hurt the defense and they took care of the ball fairly well-we can't be effective on either end if we need to be forced to rebound to get all our stops.

Jamil was bad. Junior was worse. Jae was no where to be found for long stretches. WAY too many unforced TOs. Too many quick shots, particularly from DJO. Lots of matador D. Got killed on the boards early. It was just one of those nights. Come back and get one on Saturday.

FWIW, it was a joke watching the Cincy fans give Gates a standing O late in the game. That guy should have never suited up in a Bearcat uniform after his role in the Xavier brawl.

We just had a thread on this board a couple months ago looking back at the brawl in the Marquette / South Carolina brawl of 1972 (???) in a nationally televised game.  No one was suspended.  No one was even kicked out of the game.

You honestly think that anyone should have been suspended for the rest of the season for that?  Complete overreaction.

If someone from MU's current team punched an opposing player in the face with a complete and total cheap shot in plain view of millions of people, I wouldn't want that player representing my university. You're welcome to disagree.

I'd suspend and bring him back when he apologizes and serves his punishment.  Forgiveness is a Christian virtue that should be matched with deeds at a Christian university.

Fair enough. Should the player he punched have turned the other cheek?  ;)

I think he did...unintentionally though.
