I don't understand why you think that the team managers are automatically dorks? And how does that have any relevance? Just curious.

I don't understand why you think that the team managers are automatically dorks.  Probably because you are an ignorant 19 year old.  Grow up.  If you are really an MU student maybe you should stop going to school and paying tuition because it is obviously a waste of money on you...but then again you are an MU student so my guess is you are on mommy and daddys tab...

Glad we won't be getting any more info from BD because of ignorance like yours.

I believe Rick Majeros was a team manager.

I am pretty sure DG was in street clothes during the ND game.

This gets really tiring about posters getting slammed for providing info.  I had a friend first post here that had absolute knowledge of Dominic James coming back from his injury for the NCAA tourney.  He posted that and was clobbered on this board.  Result?  No more posts on this board.

The only logical conclusion is people do not like inside info.  Would much rather have conjecture.

Couldn't agree more Dano.  I loved the updates from Big Daddy and others who have great info to share with the rest of the class.  It's the self-proclaimed Mr. Know-it-alls who ruin it for the rest of us who actually like the information and are willing to see how it plays out before ripping the OP a new arsehole for posting the info.

I agree it's too bad that people get run off.  The problem is that it's impossible to know what's conjecture or not.  Someone coming on here and saying James is gonna play certainly sounds like conjecture based on what we knew at the time.  oh well.

I've posted with knowledge before and all I received was abuse about being the worst MU fan in history (next to Stalin, of course) and a man who's only purpose in life was to portray MU in a negative light.

Hell, even one nutjob in this forum went to the lengths of starting new threads calling me out. You can see why people wouldn't bother.

Yeah, I remember that.  And that was a shame.

What I hate most is the assumption by some regular posters that the facts or opinions of new/infrequent posters are either unreliable or less valuable than their own. This shouldn't be some sort of fraternity where newcomers are childishly hazed and forced to prove their worth - rather they should be made to feel welcome. If you disagree or doubt them fine - but do it on merit, not something  as arbitrary as number of posts.

I agree completely. I think it starts when someone does not like what was stated in a post. I have commented on here, with above average knowledge, and if not in the majority opinion it gets blasted. My only comment on Big Daddy was just because he posted positive things it made him an expert. If he had stated all negative or questionable posts he would have been called a troll.

I think all new posters should get a chance before getting ripped or praised on here. More people posting on here makes it better site.

Completely agreed.  It's a joke to say "And what, he only has 60 posts?"  It's just screaming "Look at me, I have 200 posts, go to the school and hear these rumors!  How can people not believe the rumors I post on here going around campus to be fact, while this guy has been correct on all of his posts but only has 60 posts?"  I was at Marquette until last year and heard all the rumors...THEY'RE NOWHERE NEAR THE TRUTH!  News flash: Some Marquette students despise the basketball fans (see the Tribune article about not putting basketball players on a pedistal) and want to bring you down to that level with them.  That is how rumors circulate around campus, and it's a joke.  In fact, I would much rather hear from an anonymous source that I have no idea where he gets the information from than a Marquette student who heard some campus rumors.  You know campus rumors are as far from the truth as possible.

The saddest part is that the people who are complaining about number of posts are those who are also new to the board.  It just screams "How come he gets respect when I can't get any?"  Well, when you act like that, it's pretty obvious why you aren't getting any.

Pretty sure Ari Gold is the worst offender at this. SNAP.

I had enjoyed the bit of anarchy that ruled this board.  I appreciate the mods letting us battle it out to a degree, and stepping in on a limited basis.

I am a serious MU fan, but life is serious...MU hoops is where I go for relief.    I always read Buzz vs Crean threads for the one post that would make me squirt milk out my nose.  This board was way more fun than Dodds board, with the same amount of good info.

The treatment of Big Daddy is causing me to rethink this approach.   We have lost good posters, with valuable info, due to the infantile behavior of a small minority.  Too bad.

Not that anyone has to defend Ari other than Ari but I don't get that impression from Ari's posts.

Ringout is right.  We lose some good posters because of a few mopes whose egos are so large they can't bear to have someone provide good information if it comes from anyone other than them.  How do we know it's good info?  Let it play out.  If it turns out the information given is wrong, then rip the poster. Or at least go back and tell the poster you were wrong and be man enough to apologize.

Possible Identities of "BigDaddy84":

1. A dork team manager who is going to get himself relieved from his duties with the team

2. A friend of a dork team manager that is going to get his friend relieved from his duties with the team

3. A dork student or young fan that doesn't have any information (<--- Most likely identity)

Possible Consequences of "BigDaddy84" if He has Actually Leaked Information:

1. Gifting a competitive edge to all MUBB opponents

Possible Consequences of "BigDaddy84" if He is a Fraud

1. Confusion among the MUBB fan-base

2. Embarrassment among those members that trusted him

Reaction Upon Departure of "BigDaddy84"

Good riddance.

Speaking of dorks.

Umm the information has been wrong chief.   Using percentages to keep the posters "Look at me i'm 100% right all the time" is no way to prove your credible.  So BD wants people to apologize if they assumed that the guys who were "Benched" were out partying, getting laid, whatever it is they came up with, but yet BD shouldn't be held accountable for his errors?  Makes a lot of sense to me. I guess i'll just hope that De' De' will play against Cincy as i'm now 90% sure he will from the info I was provided.

Not to state the obvious, but some posters need to learn to read...and not just what they think is between the lines.

Once again, some posters can't stand someone having more information than they have.  It is too bad.

Just caught up on this thread and really liked what BD had to share.

MUStudent:
The opposing team is going to know if DG is playing before the game actually starts anyway. It's not going to make a difference when they find it out, because they will be preparing for him anyway.  Buzz has said over and over that DG may have a limited roll when he comes back anyway because what we're doing now is working without him, so that team shouldn't be overly worried if he's in the game or not. They are Division I athletes. . . they'll already be prepared for him no matter what.

In response to another post you had about BD not offering valuable information. I think everyone on this board is now more comfortable knowing that our players weren't involved in illegal activity, which equals . . . valuable information.

tower912

Yeah, that's entirely it...Damn do i wish I could report that information.  Because that's what my world revolves around.  Your response is about as smart as me saying "I'm younger than you so you're jealous"  Pretty intellegent right?
