ND destroyed MU.

MU was outplayed, outcoached and outhustled.

The refs had NOTHING to do with what happened today.

ND is a whip-smart team with a very good coach and have a number of signature wins.

NickelDimer

Let's not go overboard!  ND is a decent, run of the mill team who can appear good when A) playing at home and B) Shooting 50+% from 3.  The number of teams that would fall into this group is vast.

And while I wish more fouls were called,  I haven't seen anyone blame the refs.  WTF are you talking about?

Like ATL said...go read it again, your comprehension is faltering.

Screw the refs.  They should have let us have two extra players on the floor so we are able to defend the three.  And if you can't let a player who is bleeding onto the floor how is it fair to let a player whose face is full of grease play the whole game?

mu ricer22

Refs were fine. It was our team playing small and ND's defense. Walking out of the Joyce I heard ND fans blaming the refs and saying they were getting hacked.  ?-( I don't think they realized that they won fairly.  MU was outplayed and lets move on to Depaul.

You do realize that ND has beaten Louisville, UConn and Seton Hall on the road this year, right?

I mean that's not murderer's row, but it's not a "run of the mill team who can appear good when playing at home."  In these three games, ND shot 19%, 26% and 31% from 3pt land, so your part two isn't true either.

Please. They are hardly a run of the mill team. They kicked our butts.

wojosdojo

Not blaming the refs. Its just the same old story with another team having a field day from 3.

100% agree

When the refs swallow the whistle under the basket, an aggressive, attacking team like MU is going to have a rough go of it. Add to that an opponent shooting the lights out and it's a recipe for an ugly loss. I'm almost glad that the game wasn't close because the officiating was so god-awful.

Godzilla - congratulations, this makes a record 54 posts from you without a single positive post, and I'm pretty sure that is a record.  Plenty of good fans are more critical than others - but most are constructive in their criticism and are happy to post when MU does well.

This time you are asked a simple question - to post the link to who was blaming the refs, and most of the classless sewage you put out, you can't even come up with backup to your latest blind assertion.  And a quote that says a style of refing can be tougher on one team than another - which no one doubts - as part of a quote that points out that Notre Dame was shooting lights out from behind the arc - is not blaming the loss on the refs.  NOONE has said we lost this game because of hte refs, as I'm sure you've learned in trying to find a quote during almost an hour of looking.

I noticed another interesting trend - your near disappearance when MU is winning.  The best case was when you ripped on MU when they were down 15 to the number 1 team in the land Syracuse.   Of course, MU plays a fantastic second half and what happens - YOU DON'T POST AGAIN FOR ANOTHER WEEK!

You when someone asks you to back up a claim, you go hide in your cave.  When you lob a bomb and then MU makes you eat your words, you run hide in your cave for a week.  I mean really, while it's sometimes good entertainment to watch you get this confused while posting, is it really fun for you to continually make a fool of yourself writing about something that you obviously detest - Marquette basketball?

I'm sure there are plenty of other hobbies you would enjoy much more.
The www.valueaddsports.com analysis of basketball, football and baseball players are intended to neither be too hot or too cold - hundreds immerse themselves in studies of stats not of interest to broader fan bases (too hot), while others still insist on pure observation (too cold).

They let em' play which I like, if refs could do that consistently it should help us long term, our D and rotations were just off today....hey at least we didn't start slow :)

I gotta admit...I didn't know where you were going after "blowing."

The refs called a consistent, Big East style game.  Honestly that is how it is called in this league.  We've known that since we joined.  To complain about it now is silly.

MUMac

The way the BE officiates, they allow body contact if the arms are straight up.  They do not assume the offense or defense created that contact.  Unless the defensive player plays through the body, that is about the only time they call a body foul.  ND was well coached in this area.  They kept their arms staight.  MU initiated contact trying to draw the foul.  ND did not fall into that trap.

ND was much bigger than MU, especially without Otule and Gardner.  They used that to their advantage, defensively.

I thought it was an evenly officiated game.

But if I do have to be serious, I thought the refs called an excellent game.

Refs had nothing to do with the outcome. ND was great in the second half and we couldn't respond. Nothing to do but turn the page, look to DePaul, and hope we can the Irish again in the tournament.
