I saw that UW-M is playing Butler tonight, which should be a decent game considering they both have 6-3 conference records. I've never been to a UW-M game and probably will never go to one considering I live in Chicago, but do any Milwaukee residents/MU peeps ever go to UW-M games that have potential to be good?

I would have to live downtown, be single, have no kids, have front row seats, have a personal waitress to fetch me and my friends beer and nachos, and know ahead of time I would be selected to try a half court shot for a million dollars.

I go to 1-2 games a year. It's cool for the nostalgia of watching a game at the MECCA, but mainly I'm just a college basketball junkie.

I, too, would need all of those things except the personal waitress and the half court shot. The whole marriage thing and being out of state is problematic.

Oldgym

I thought about it for a second, but it's a tough sell to Mrs. Oldgym.  Instead, I'll amuse myself with UW-It's Indiana tonight, and root for coaching meltdowns.

I also take pleasure in matchups such as this.  As a Lions fan, it is also why I enjoy watching the Bears.

Buzz Williams' Spillproof Chiclets Cup

I saw SLU play UWM at the MECCA in 2005 when some SLU friends came up for a weekend. I wore my Marquette 2003 Final Four shirt. Naturally, this was just as the Three Amigos were getting going, and MU was coming off a loss to Western Michigan in the NIT the year before, while UWM made their fluke run to the Sweet 16.

A weird older UWM fan approached me, tapped me on the shoudler, and pointed towards UWM's "NCAA Tournament" and "Horizon League Tournament Champions" banners, and smugly said "You see those banners?" and chuckled like he'd really shown me. I just asked him if the sport of basketball existed before 2003. He left me alone after that.

It's a nice gym. Decent place to watch a game, but it's definitely bizarro world after the Bradley Center.

You must have met BBFran.

I saw Butler play at Loyola last Saturday. MU would run them off the floor. They are way down this year. Loyola's Gentile Center (recently upgraded) is pretty nice. It's kind of a mini McGuire Center.

Indiana has not won in Madison since 1997.  Will tonight be the end of that streak...?

Boone

Attended the UWM-Detroit game a couple weekends ago, only b/c I was given free tix. The alleged student section was made up of about a dozen students. The place was 1/2 full and there was no atmosphere in the building. Compared to the BC, it's a really depressing place to watch a game. That program aspires to be 2nd rate.

I go to the horizon league tournament when Milwaukee hosts it. Those games have pretty good environments
