Not sure if anyone mentioned this, but from Rosiak's blog on Monday night, he mentioned that Crean is talking about a possible home and home with a team from the Pac 10 starting this season.

Considering we're at Madison this coming year, I wonder if this would be a home game this season. Also, some teams that go out to play in Maui will pick up a game on the west coast on the Thurs/Fri before the Maui Invite starts.

It wouldn't be ASU, Arizona, or Washington (based on their current '07/'08 schedules). Stanford, UCLA, USC, Washington State would all be great gets for a home and home. Be interested to see which team Marquette is in discussions with.

I seem to rememeber that we owe U San Francisco a return date and we were going to do that on the way to Maui in 2007.

That was an internet rumor.

Does that make it twice as untrue???   :D

Was it only a rumor?
I think I remember MU buying out the USF away game...hmmm.

I'd love it to be Stanford. Beautiful gym, close to home ;), but the Lopez twins will gobble up our posts!!!

I wouldn't mind Cal either. Rabid Cal fans mean a Bear-fan-in-Packerland atmosphere, but with our current colors, we MU fans would blend in. :/

I'd drive to USC or UCLA for a game, heck even Oregon or Oregon State...but UW, WAZZOU, ZONA or ASU...can't do it.

My feeling is it's probably Stanford or Zona, but also think it could be UCLA (Howland former BE coach, LA's rich prospect land).

The only place it was ever mentioned was on message boards. I am fairly certain it was a buy game not a home and home. A lot people on the WC wished, hoped and dreamed it was a tune up stop to Maui - but that is all.

I don't think it would be in UCLA's best interest.  However, USC would fit the bill.  We get a little exposure in SoCal and Floyd uses MU to help him build USC into a solid basketball program.  I could also see Wash St. for the same reasons.  The connection with Bennett and exposure to a new recruiting base.

Dish

It will not be Zona, Washington or ASU, as all of their non-conference slates are set for next year.

mviale

MU does owe us a USF trip or a trip to berkeley.
You heard it here first. Davante Gardner will be a Beast this year.

Don't know whether we owe USF a game, but they're not a Pac 10 team.  They're a WCC team.

Mayor McCheese

would like to see it be Washington St.... such a different style of basketball that seems to kill us when we play it... we need more practice on it so if we see that type of play in postseason tourneys, we will have atleast some play against it.... plus playing Tony Bennett makes sense since he is a WI guy
