Bucky likely got points for smoking a then-ranked Illinois team while we smoked a mid-level MAAC team in Seton Hall. Oregon is also a tourney lock.

Pleasantly surprised to still be ranked at all. Yet another sign of the national respect our program receives.

If I wanted to quibble, I could argue that we should be ahead of Purdue, which is #20. But, as I said, happy to still be ranked.

Despite a similar "last loss", the computers (pom/torvik/net) still have Purdue in the teens, and Marquette over 25.  Likely explains the difference.

Kansas had their streak broken today. It is the first time they've been unranked since February 2021, it was the second longest.

No Billy, what I mean is that it's amazing with all the doom and gloom of the past few weeks, and the suggestion that Shaka doesn't know what he's doing, that he actually has Marquette ranked high on this list.

It was an ironic "Huh" more than anything.

It's more difficult to fall out of the rankings than go from unranked to ranked.

I would imagine more and more of the voters are aligning their ballots with the projected seedings for the tournament.  Whether those projections are their own or from other sources.

If that's the case, as a low 5 seed/high 6 right now... 20 would make sense in a consensus of voters.

Eh, think you're giving them way to much credit.  Some pollsters have us in the top ten, others do not include at all.
