I always think of Wade as a down to earth guy, and I remember seeing a post a month back or so when we was selling his house but never saw these pictures...

Is it just me, or is this way over the top egotistical.. the picture of him on the painted on the actual wall made me laugh, and are you serious with the Spiderman? The W looks somewhat classy, but it seems someone else in the NBA's house is not something DWADE would endorse.... I don't mind how nice it is, he deserves a nice place, but it just elevates him to a level almost a god or superhero...

Thoughts?

Looks to me like that's his son's room and bathroom....his dad probably is a superhero to him.  I think it's great.  And actually, I don't think that's Dwyane in the Spiderman illustration, but rather his son.

My mom's place has drawings like that of each of the grandkids on her walls in very similar fashion...each of the kids is doing something different.  My son being a Jeff Gordon fan is depicted in the #24 car as done by the artist that painted my mom's walls...it's very cool.

The only thing I didn't like was the Golden Eagle logo which I would say knocks the property values down about $5 million.  Of course the house is totally wired for DIRECTV so that would equal it out. ;)

Obviously the author never saw Shaq's 64,000 square foot home.(which actually looks a lot better btw)

What's with the staircase to nowhere? It's like that bridge over the river in mIlwaukee South of Summerfest grounds.

ZiggysFryBoy

that bridge doesn't go nowhere, it goes to cudahy & St. Francis.

On further review, you're right.   ;D

I was looking at this article when my good friend (who is a huge Badger fan) saw it, and laughed and said "yeah, Wade is REAL modest"... I then went to the elevator picture, pointed, and said "yeah, but Alando Tucker will never have an elevator"... he quickly left

I want to see what his new house looks like.

Djgoldnboy

Go watch MTV cribs and then come back here and try to rip on that house.

Is the house nice?  Hell yeah, it should be, but in reality it's no more pimped out than any of the nice houses of other celebrities/athletes and how many of them tithe 10% up front to their church?

muarmy81

The guy works his butt off to get where he is, He's a great father, role model, husband.  He gives to his church and his community and people want to rip him for how he decorates or that he has a big house?  Why is it that our society wants to turn on people after they gain success?  Wade's a great player and a great person, which if you haven't noticed from many of the headlines lately (Pacman jones, Tank Johnson, Chris Henry, Sebastian Telfair, Stephen Jackson, Ron Artest, etc) is a rare thing in professional sports.  So he's got a mural of himself in his house?  Who cares, he's also paying for athletic facilities at his old high school, running his own charity organization for mentoring young kids, and donating millions to his church.

I don't think anyone here argues he one of the few nice guys and the most generous NBA player in the game today... I think he deserves every penny, and he probably deserves even more... I have no problem if he bought even a $100 million dollar home... I don't have a problem with anything he has ever done, which is saying a lot.

Knowing everything we know about him, it is almost comical though there is a large mural of himself... along with a large W... for a guy who we all know is the first to credit his teammates and coaches, it just wouldn't seem like he would have these types of self endorsing pieces of art at his home... I think he can do whatever he wants... he deserves it, I just feel like it didn't match his personality... it would be like if you walked into Bill Gates place and saw a lifesize cardboard cutout of Bill Gates when you walked in... I love Gates and all the work he does, but it just wouldnt seem to match his personality... same with Wade. He is not egotistical, just the things at his place make him seem that he could be, but we all know he is not.

Yes, the personalized pool and the mural seem over the top. The rest (painting of himself, "W" laid in the floor, all the stuff in his kid's room) are all pretty reasonable. I would assume the painting was a gift, and he didn't want to be disrespectful about it. The "W" is for the Wade family, and it is at the Wade family's home. It would be a problem if it were "DW", "3", etc., but it's not about just him.

However, read the article that is linked above. I don't know if there is a single person in the world today I would rather have as an MU alum than Dwyane. He gets tons of publicity, he stays out of trouble, he's extremely good at what he does, he's a respectable family man, and he exemplifies everything Marquette is/tries to be.
