Is he good enough that he'll be able to put games away at the free-throw line in the final minute the way Diener & Novack used to? He's a walk-on--I know he's on scholarship this season--but he's no Frozena, right? I see he shot 83% from the line in his two years as a regular at South Dakota. Hopefully, he can play in crunch time.

Watching all those missed free-throws in the last minute or so today was painful. And 23-37 overall.

nyg

Seven of them in last two minutes.  Nine in last three minutes.

Thomas is next year, so maybe.  Today it was everyone missing, with Vander the worst at 3 for 8.

I think DJO hit the front rim 3 times.  He is not a clutch free throw shooter.  I'd rather have Mayo on the line.

Why would you even ask if he's like Frozena?

Do you think Frozena would have earned a D1 scholarship, like Thomas did out of high school?

He averaged double digits at the D1 level, before he came to MU. I know it was low D1, but Frozena doesn't average double digits in low D3.

Rob could easily average double digits at a D3 school, no question. TC had a former D3 guard as a walk on that opted out of dressing for games.

I was making the point that he came to MU as a walk-on, but from everything I've read about him, he can actually play and contribute at this level. He's not just here to help out during practice--like other recent walk-ons. My question is whether he's good enough to be on the floor when the game in on the line in the final minutes, and make some clutch free-throws. I sure hope so.

Players on the bench should be required to offer them, but only wussies should accept them.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Blue must've learned that technique by watching Crean give the cold tit to opposing coaches after games.

Shooters like Jake Thomas are a welcome addition to any team.  We are lucky to have him.  He will help Mu win next year!

Jim: What did you ever play you little dick head?

Tom: I was on the end of the bench in HS basketball.

Jim and John:  I can't believe my sister has anything to do with you.
