Agree.  Tonight LSU hit the key shots.  In the last 4-5 minutes, when we would go up 2, they would hit a huge 3.  Happened a couple of times.

MU gutted it, but it showed early that it was not their night.

Yup,  MU kept getting 1-2 point leads and LSU would immediately score on the next play.  I think I've said "MU needs a stop here" over a dozen times this half and they got it about 1-2 times.

Plus side: we can now rue the games we wear all our blue unis.

Absolutely no big man/inside presence. I never thought I'd say this... but they need Otule.
You didn't think so?  I knew I'd say it the second he got hurt.

Just another typical day when the opponent decides to explode from 3 on us... 63.5%

Running the same inbound play 2 x in a row and Devante not taking care of the ball MU could have gone up 4.  Instead they lose by 8.  This team was flummoxed by a really mediocre team.

Thud right down to 19 where they belong.

We played bad and lost. It happens. Learn and move on. Bring on UWM!!

LSU shot the lights out.

What can you say.

crap, I don't know, attempt to play some semblance of fundamental defense rather then running around looking for steals on every pass.

MU's 3 defense is horrid. Has been the entire season.

Davante always looks a little "sleepy" out there.  But he is going to look worse when the other team has an athletic front line.

Our rotations were bad again.  I know what Buzz *wants* to do, but I am not sure if this group can do it.

Oh yeah, Thursday, oops.  C'mon boys, let's whip UW-M.

LSU is Washington lite.  They've got some talent on that team.  I'd rather lose (if we had to) at Baton Rouge instead of Madison!

Gardner looked like a disinterested bum.  Off nights are one thing, but lack of effort is inexcusable.

That is the same look he always has.  I did not see the same lack of effort you did.  He was active on the boards, got a few put backs.  Hustled on defense, well in relative terms at least.

I don't know, he seemed to lose interest.  At one point he "set a screen" by sticking out his rear end.  I get that his demeanor is a bit sluggish, but c'mon.

Season checklist
(x) Non-conference near-miss against inferior opponent (sky falls on Scoop)
(x) Non-conference stinker to inferior opponent (more sky-falling)
( ) Non-conference loss on big stage convinces board MU not ready for Big East
( ) Unmentionable conference loss
( ) Road Game we weren't supposed to win
( ) Late surge
( ) Top-half Big East Finish

You forgot "Key Injury to player and Sky starts falling"
Right on schedule...

It's tough to win on the road. It's even tougher to win when they shoot 63% from 3

Davante is bad on defense and even worse at getting rebounds.  He got schooled by those guys out there.

Yes, he gives up height, but rebounding isnt about height.

The first problem with last night's game was I wore none of my lucky game day Marquette spirt wear starting from my underwear right up to my travel coffee cup.  I thought the game was tonight.  Maybe the team did too?

He also gives up quickness AND athleticism.  Look, we all know what Gardner is.  He is a big, strong, relatively immobile body who can't jump over a postage stamp.  By definition that makes him a poor defender, regardless of effort expended.  On the other hand, he has excellent hands and feet, a clever variety of moves around the hoop and excellent passing skills for a big man.  There are games where his total game will be very useful, and others (against big, quick, athletic front lines) where his game is less useful.
