Not on campus during the time of the photo, but just throwing out a guess. Was that them putting or cleaning the bells in Gesu or Marquette Hall?

Actually, the developer of the Dear Marquette site credits his inspiration.

Although, it's easy to see why you'd miss it because the text is extremely difficult to read against that background.

Yeah, that website has been up since May.  Pictures like that have been popping up for a couple of years now.

This is one of the more well-known galleries with pictures dating back to 2k9.  MU definitely doesn't have to credit a blog that stole other people's ideas if they don't want to on this one

I saw a few guys from the OD days I knew.

As a former Admissions Office worker, I know that a good number of these were used in the University publications.

I was at Marquette from 65-69. I believe it was in 68 or 69 the University received a donation for a new carillon  for the tower in Johnston Hall and all the bells were displayed.
