So with the recent betrayal, we have one of two scenarios lining up. Either the fball schools panic and run their separate ways leaving us with a BBall only conference, or we're able to hold it together and fill in with teams like KU and KSU.

Personally I think the BBall only conference is the more stable long term position for MU. The question is whether it would be good enough to attract ESPN. GTown, Nova, Us and St Johns form a solid foundation, but after that we are looking pretty mediocre. I know people after recruits like Steve Taylor think it's better for MU that DePaul is down, but we could use some real competition in a new league.

Question is whether you'll now find yourself rooting for the DePaul, Providnce and seton Hall's This season?

The BE isn't going to be getting KU, KSU, Mizzou any longer.  A much more likely scenario is that the remnants of the B12 invite Louisville, Cincy, TCU, etc. to join them.  At least that way we keep the BE name and the MSG.
